Title: Senior Marketing Events Manager
Location: Santa Barbara, CA or remote

Job Summary: MixMode Is looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Events Manager to join our team in our Santa Barbara office. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing events that support the company’s marketing initiatives and goals. Their role combines strategic planning with hands-on management to create memorable, high-impact events that engage target audiences. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating across various departments, including executive leadership, marketing, and sales, to deliver successful events that enhance brand awareness, generate leads, and foster customer and channel relationships. 

What you will be doing (responsibilities):

  1. Event Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement a strategic event plan that aligns with business objectives.
    • Define event goals, success metrics, and expected outcomes to drive ROI.
    • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for new events.
  2. Event Management:
    • Lead the planning and execution of events, including conferences, trade shows, product launches, and customer events.
    • Manage event logistics such as venue selection, registration processes, catering, AV setups, and staffing.
    • Oversee creative elements like branding, messaging, and event themes.
  3. Budget & Financial Oversight:
    • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximization of ROI.
    • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for cost-efficient services while maintaining quality standards.
  4. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Work strategically across the company to ensure support of all events.   
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment.
    • Liaise with external partners such as vendors, venues, speakers, and influencers.
  5. Marketing & Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and advertising.
    • Ensure event messaging aligns with overall brand strategy.
    • Engage attendees before, during, and after the event to maintain brand interaction and capture feedback.
  6. Performance Measurement & Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze event performance and attendee feedback.
    • Create and manage campaigns in SFDC
    • Provide post-event reports, including ROI analysis, attendance rates, and feedback to stakeholders.
    • Continuously improve event processes based on lessons learned from past events.
  7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
    • Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors, including event production teams, designers, and promotional agencies.
    • Ensure vendor deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
  8. On-site Event Execution:
    • Lead on-the-ground event management, ensuring seamless event execution.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during events to maintain a high level of attendee satisfaction.

What you’ll need to bring (qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in event management, marketing, or related field preferably in a senior role. 
  • Self starter
  • Experience working on both Federal, Commercial and Channel Events
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale events with measurable success.
  • Strong understanding of event marketing, digital marketing, and brand strategy.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Other things we’d love to see:

  • Proficiency in event management software and CRM systems.
  • Experience with virtual and hybrid event management.
  • Familiarity with design and marketing tools (e.g., SFDC, Monday.com, Hubspot, Gsuite and Adobe Acrobat).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Creative and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.

This role is essential for ensuring that marketing events drive brand visibility, customer engagement, and business growth while delivering exceptional experiences to attendees. We are open to hiring great talent who may have qualifications above or below those specifically listed in this job description. Pursuant to California law, we must display the pay range for this job. Since we are willing to hire within a broad spectrum of qualifications, we also reflect a broad pay range.  The base hourly range that we are targeting for this position is $120,000-$140,000 though we can adjust based on individual qualifications. Individual salary is determined by qualifications, role, level, and location.
