About the Team
The Operational Finance Team is responsible for a variety of tasks that are instrumental in keeping the business running on a day to day basis. There are six teams within the Operational Finance Function each serve a specific purpose to the company: (1) Accounting and Accounts Payable - Accurately records all vendor related transactions and keeps our vendors paid, (2) AR Team - provisions all customers access to Mixpanel and ensure proper revenue recognition and records all customer payments and ensures we get paid on time, (3) Payroll - prepares payrolls for all employees world wide. (4) Deal Desk - facilitates in the contract review and execution of customer contracts and assists the sales team to accelerate the deal cycle. (5) Procurement - oversees and facilitates the source to pay process with an objective of efficiency and cost savings.
You will be the foundational second member of our growing Procurement team. As a key part of the broader Operational Finance function, our team is building the procurement process from the ground up with a focus on efficiency, cost savings, and strong partnerships. You'll work closely with critical teams like Accounting, Accounts Payable, Legal, and Security to ensure all company purchasing is seamless, compliant, and strategically sound.
About the Role
As a Procurement Operations Analyst, you will be the backbone of our procurement function, ensuring that our internal teams can acquire the goods and services they need efficiently and seamlessly. You will play a crucial role in managing our vendor relationships, executing procurement processes, and maintaining the integrity of our procurement systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual who excels at working on problems of moderate scope and variety. You will apply your developing expertise and knowledge of company policies to resolve issues and improve processes, receiving general instruction on new assignments while working independently on day-to-day tasks. If you are passionate about creating order, solving puzzles, and building productive working relationships to drive business forward.
Responsibilities
- Vendor Lifecycle Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, guiding them from onboarding and document collection (W-9s, banking info) through to partnering with Accounts Payable to resolve payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Procurement Request Oversight: Manage the daily procurement request queue from intake to completion, ensuring requests are accurate and moving forward without delay, while proactively monitoring for bottlenecks to improve overall cycle times.
- Stakeholder Guidance & Support: Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams by assisting them through the procurement process, while also providing first-line system support for both internal users and external vendors.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and internal partners (Legal, IT Security, Finance) to track critical documents like Statement of Works and security reports, ensuring seamless communication and handoffs throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain meticulous data accuracy for all requests, contracts, and vendor records within the procurement system, and assist in generating reports on key metrics to provide insights to the team.
- Process Improvement: Proactively analyze request trends and system data to identify and act on opportunities for process improvements, automation, or clearer guidance for all stakeholders.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience in procurement, accounts payable, or a similar operational role.
- Hands-on experience with procure-to-pay (P2P) systems (e.g., Coupa, Zip, Ironclad).
- Exceptional organizational skills and a strong commitment to accuracy and detail.
- Proven ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships with both internal and external partners.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently on daily tasks.
