Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close process. In a growing, fast-paced organization, this position requires a hands-on approach, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a willingness to take ownership of both routine and ad-hoc accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, loves account reconciliations, and thrives in a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Accounting
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accruals.
- Update monthly account reconciliations and commentary on any variances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate coding, accruing any anticipated AP not received, and manage payment schedules.
- Maintain vendor and customer records in the accounting system (Sage).
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing internal financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Provide variance analysis to explain changes in expenses or revenue.
- Support audit requests and assist in preparing documentation for tax filings.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by management.
Other Duties
- Participate in process improvement projects to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proficiency with ERP software (Sage) and MS Excel.
- Strong account reconciliation skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comfortable discussing medical and recreational cannabis in a professional setting.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must commit to working sober – we love cannabis, but we do not get high on the job.
- This position is based on site and not eligible for remote commuting.

- Pay range between $70,000 - $75,000
