We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform team—a passionate, impact-driven group that’s building the backbone of our data ecosystem. This role is more than leadership—it's a chance to drive innovation and empower every data practitioner across the company through thoughtful infrastructure, intuitive tools, and resilient systems. As a hands-on leader, you’ll stay close to the code, contribute to critical projects, and elevate the team’s technical bar—while creating space for others to grow, thrive, and do their best work.

What You'll Do: 

  • Lead with vision and purpose: Guide the Data Platform team in designing and delivering foundational infrastructure that enables scalable, self-serve, and trustworthy data workflows across analytics, data science, and engineering.

  • Shape the future of data tooling: Partner with a Staff Engineer and experienced team members to define a compelling technical roadmap and architecture.

  • Build for impact: Collaborate with stakeholders across data science, analytics, product, and engineering to build features that meet real-world needs.

  • Ensure platform excellence: Champion system reliability, scalability, observability, and governance across data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and more.

  • Raise the bar: Foster strong engineering standards by contributing to key projects, leading technical discussions, and conducting design and code reviews.

  • Grow talent: Mentor and support engineers through clear development paths, creating an environment of belonging, curiosity, and continual learning.

  • Communicate with clarity: Align stakeholders by sharing updates on priorities, progress, and platform vision in a transparent and inclusive manner.

What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading teams or projects.
  • Demonstrated experience building internal platforms or developer tools—ideally in a data-intensive environment.
  • Strong understanding of modern data infrastructure: orchestration (e.g. Airflow, Dagster), warehousing (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake), streaming (e.g. Kafka), and transformation tools (e.g. SQLMesh).
  • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), containers, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional work streams and translate user needs into robust platform capabilities.
  • A product mindset—focus on solving real user problems, not just building technology.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and contribute technically while building a high-performing team.
