At Mob Entertainment, we tell stories — and every visual effect should help bring those stories to life. VFX isn’t just about spectacle; it’s about creating believable, grounded moments that pull players deeper into the world. We’re looking for a Senior VFX Artist who thrives on crafting realistic, physically grounded effects, from subtle environmental details to big cinematic moments.
- Design and implement high-quality, realistic real-time visual effects in Unreal Engine — from atmospheric details and gameplay-driven effects to big cinematic moments.
- Create advanced Niagara systems and custom module scripts to drive unique, physically plausible effects.
- Develop and optimize materials that support VFX needs across environments and gameplay.
- Own and execute Chaos destruction workflows, integrating destructible assets and dynamic simulations into gameplay.
- Collaborate closely with design, art, and engineering teams to ensure effects enhance storytelling and gameplay.
- Integrate effects into Blueprints, prototype interactions, and fine-tune to feel responsive and immersive.
- Mentor junior artists, sharing knowledge and raising the overall quality bar for the team.
- 7+ years of professional experience creating real-time VFX for games, with at least two shipped titles in a senior or principal role (console or PC).
- Expert with Unreal Engine, including Niagara, Blueprints, and performance optimization.
- Proficient with Chaos destruction pipeline — you know how to build, simulate, and integrate dynamic, realistic destruction at scale.
- Strong experience using Houdini to create procedural destruction assets, simulate debris and environmental effects, and generate flipbooks or mesh caches for real-time VFX.
- Confident creating custom Niagara modules and scripts to achieve physically accurate behaviors.
- Strong artistic sensibility and a deep understanding of how to make effects feel real and impactful, not over-stylized.
- Excited to mentor and support junior artists, sharing knowledge and helping grow the team’s skills.
- Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about pushing technical and visual fidelity.
- A portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of high-quality, realistic real-time VFX, with emphasis on destruction and environmental effects.
- Experience with HLSL or custom shader authoring.
- Experience with EmberGen for realistic simulation-driven flipbooks or elements.
- Strong skills in VFX performance profiling and optimization for console and PC.
- Familiarity with developing custom Houdini setups or tools to improve VFX production pipelines.
- Work on ambitious, visually bold projects that challenge and inspire.
- Join a passionate, tight-knit team that values creative freedom and technical mastery.
- Enjoy ownership, flexibility, and opportunities to shape entire worlds.
- Competitive compensation, full benefits, and a culture built on respect and curiosity.
