Job Description:
MoCaFi seeks a visionary Data Architect to design and implement a robust data infrastructure that powers our business decisions. As a critical member of our team, this role will be instrumental in shaping our data strategy and ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security.
The Data Architect will be responsible for creating a comprehensive data architecture that aligns with our business objectives, supports our data-driven culture, and enables seamless integration of diverse data sources. This position will build a scalable and resilient data foundation by leveraging your expertise in data modeling, database design, and emerging technologies.
This individual will report to our Head of Engineering as an important member of our development team. This role is hybrid to New York City; however, we accept applications nationwide, and you can work remotely from the US. The salary range is $130,000-180,000 annually based on experience and location.
Job Responsibilities:
- Achieve organizational goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support applications, platforms, and databases
- Maintain database by determining structural requirements and developing and installing solutions
- Ensure the security of all information computer systems and digital data
- Ensures adherence to government regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of data
- Recommend upgrades and systems for purchase
- Source and troubleshoot solutions for systems issues that affect data storage as they arise
- Achieve financial information architecture operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production and quality standards, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining system improvements, and implementing change
- Study organizational mission, goals, and business drivers, confers with senior management to understand information requirement
- Defines infrastructure for design and integration of internet computing systems by analyzing information requirements, studying business operations and user-interface requirements, and directing the development of physical database
- Determine platform architecture, technology, and tools
- Confirm architecture capability and flexibility to support high-availability web applications by developing analytical models and completing validation tests
- Improve architecture by tracking emerging technologies and evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or information systems; Master’s degree a plus
- 8+ years of previous experience as a data architect or in a data management role in payments or consumer lending (e.g. payment processing, acquiring, issuing, payment technology provider, etc.)
- Experience with software network design and implementation
