Studio Photographer

The Studio Photographer will take direction from our Senior Photographer and is responsible for shooting high-quality digital photography for Moda Operandi.  

This is a fully onsite position (Monday through Friday) in our Industry City office.

Primary Responsibilities, include:

• Working in the studio alongside stylists to capture digital images of products. 
• Ensuring that all products are lit correctly, efficiently, and creatively, following brand guidelines. 
• Producing consistently high-quality and beautiful images, ensuring accurate and correct exposure and color. 
• Performing quality assurance on all images. 
• Preparing sets, checking that all equipment is functioning, and setting up appropriate lighting as per our guidelines. 
• Naming and maintaining digital asset files 
• Accurately adding talent, set, and location information in Creative Force. 
• Cropping and processing all images, while maintaining file size specifications. 
• Accurately archiving daily backups on the Mac in the EQ room. 
• Taking responsibility for the care and upkeep of all studio equipment, props, and supplies.

• Willingness to work night shifts during Fashion weeks. 
• Commitment to continuously improving workflows and processes. 
• Ability to decisively troubleshoot photography challenges on-set. 
• Support fellow photographers as an assistant and/or digital tech when not shooting. 
• Assist freelancers and train interns. 
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, even under pressure, with a flexible attitude. 
• Proactive and capable of taking initiative. 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
• Self-driven and proficient in communicating creative ideas and collaborating in a team environment. 
• Focused on productivity and proven as a quick problem solver. 

Qualifications/Ideal Experience:

• Professional experience in a commercial photography studio. 
• Photography portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital photography, including lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics 

Industry Experience: 

• Experience shooting in an e-commerce photo studio, including still life, on-figure, and form photography. 
• Comfortable in high-pressure studio and location environments, adept at meeting deadlines without hesitation. 
• Proficient in professional photography cameras, lighting equipment, and grip gear. 
• Skilled in using imaging software and color management applications, including Apple Computers, Capture One Pro, Creative Force, and ChronoSync. 
• Associate degree or equivalent photography experience required. 

Job Type: Full-time; Onsite role, 5 days a week in the office; NYC based (Industry City Brooklyn office space)

Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 annually + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
