Director, Product Management
Moda Operandi is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director, Product Management to join our team. The Director, Product Management is a critical leader responsible for both product leadership and hands-on product management. You will be responsible for a specific area of the commerce tech product portfolio, shaping its strategic direction while also managing and mentoring a small team of Product Managers. This role requires you to balance your time and energy effectively, acting as the primary coach for your team while driving the execution and development of features that will define the future of Moda Operandi.
Primary Responsibilities, include:
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of two product managers (PMs), fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Demonstrate servant-based leadership, guiding by context rather than control.
- Own the development of and secure buy-in for a compelling narrative that supports the overall business direction.
- Lead a product development team, oversee the definition, envisioning, and prioritization of a product roadmap within your portfolio.
- Drive quarterly planning and assign clear objectives to your product managers.
- Lead the team through defining, identifying, and tracking appropriate product and business metrics, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Oversee the validation of new opportunities, whether user-based, strategic, or revenue-driven.
- Engage with individual contributors and leaders at all levels in a constructive and collaborative manner to ensure alignment and drive results.
Qualification/Ideal Experience:
- 7+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years as a manager on PMs, with a proven track record as an individual contributor responsible for the value and viability of solutions.
- Passionate about both leadership and product development, with a proven track record of coaching and developing others.
- Possess a demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
- Proven ability to go deep, quickly learn new domains, and understand all major parts of the business.
- Expert communicator, able to craft a persuasive story and align teams and stakeholders with clear and effective communication.
- Proven ability to delegate effectively to foster your team's development and avoid overwork.
- Skilled in user-centric methods (AB testing, prototyping, MVPs) to unearth opportunities and validate ideas.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and deep dedication to the product and the team.
Job Type: Full-time; remote role; NYC based (Industry City Brooklyn office space)
Salary: $180,000 - $215,000 annually + Discretionary Bonus & Equity Eligible
