Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports essential HR operations across onboarding, training coordination, employee experience, systems management, and general HR administration. This is a hands-on role focused on executing processes, maintaining organization-wide consistency, and ensuring employees feel supported at every step of their journey at Modena.
This role is key in coordinating new hire onboarding, tracking compliance and training, managing documentation, supporting HR systems, and providing responsive assistance to employees and managers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-minded, and excited about contributing to people operations in a fast-growing healthcare environment.
This position supports sites in La Jolla and Solana Beach, with occasional travel to nearby locations.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & New Hire Support
- Coordinate all administrative and logistical components of onboarding for clinical and non-clinical employees.
- Prepare onboarding packets, system access requests, first-day schedules, and clinic introductions.
- Support New Hire Orientation by assisting with materials, attendance, and follow-up tasks.
- Manage onboarding workflows in Greenhouse (ATS) and ADP Run, eventually transitioning processes into ADP Workforce Now.
- Track new hire progress and gather feedback to help improve onboarding quality.
Training Coordination & Development Support
- Schedule and communicate training sessions, including clinical requirements and internal development trainings.
- Maintain training materials, SOPs, checklists, and e-learning content within HR systems.
- Support the Senior HR Manager in preparing and updating slide decks, training modules, and learning pathways.
- Monitor training completion and compliance requirements (clinical and non-clinical).
- Assist with organization-wide initiatives related to leadership development and employee growth.
Employee Experience & Onboarding
- Serve as a first point of contact for basic HR questions regarding policies, onboarding, systems, or benefits.
- Support benefits administration in Ease, including new hires, life event changes, and general employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate employee records, files, and documentation.
- Assist with communication, scheduling, and logistics for engagement programs, recognition, and HR-driven events.
- Provide support during performance review cycles, including document tracking and coordination.
Program, Process & Compliance Support
- Maintain updated HR documentation, SOPs, forms, and training materials.
- Monitor compliance training, credentialing requirements, and required HR/clinical documentation.
- Produce basic HR reports and track KPIs such as onboarding metrics, training completion, and team engagement indicators.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Clinic Leadership to ensure consistent people processes across all sites.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of HR experience, ideally in a healthcare, clinical, or fast-paced multi-site environment.
- Experience coordinating onboarding, training, or HR processes strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clinic locations.
- Comfort presenting basic onboarding or training content.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with HR or operational systems—experience with Greenhouse, Ease, ADP Run, or ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and teamwork platforms such as Teams or SharePoint.
Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $25.00-33.00/hour. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, and experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic, if applicable, for extended periods; occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop, or reach as needed. Frequent use of hands and fingers for patient care and equipment operation. Must have normal (or corrected) vision and hearing and be able to respond quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment, if applicable.
