Position Summary
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to oversee financial operations for a rapidly growing medical practice and research organization with locations throughout San Diego, Los Angeles, and Arizona locations. Our mission statement is "To be the leading specialty clinic in patient experience, research and technology," and our aim is to rapidly grow and expand nationally.
We believe in automating processes end-to-end, and in the early adoption of technology. Thus, we seek individuals who are excited about adopting new technology and leading creative process improvements. To support this goal, we have a team of engineers who develop bespoke technology solutions to improve consistency and reduce manual workloads.
The VP of Finance will work closely with the CEO to develop financial strategy, reporting, internal controls, compliance, and operational financial management across all entities. The ideal candidate is a CPA, extremely detail-oriented, and passionate about growth and accomplishing ambitious goals. The ideal candidate is energetic, inspires high performance in others, and holds teams accountable to rigorous standards. This role is exempt (salary) and full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
- Oversee all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, and financial reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Develop and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and clinic expansion
- Partner with physician leadership on financial performance and operational efficiency
- Work closely with HR to establish and refine pay bands for employees
- Create incentive and bonus programs that closely tie employee performance and company objectives to bonus and equity awards.
Multi-Clinic Financial Oversight:
- Manage financial performance across multiple clinical locations
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue cycle metrics, collections, payer mix, provider productivity, and operating margins
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for financial improvement
- Ensure consistency in financial processes across locations
- Oversee revenue cycle management including billing, collections, and payer reconciliation
Revenue Cycle & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards
- Manage relationships with external CPA firms, auditors, and financial institutions
- Implement and maintain internal controls and risk management procedures
Cash Flow & Capital Management:
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and financial investments
- Evaluate and support capital projects, equipment purchases, and clinic expansions
Team Leadership:
- Supervise accounting and finance staff
- Establish policies and procedures for financial operations
- Improve financial systems and reporting tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA required)
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- 3+ years in healthcare or multi-site medical practice finance preferred
- Experience managing financial operations across multiple entities or locations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, healthcare revenue cycle, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software, ADP, and healthcare practice management systems
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $180,000-200,000/year. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, and experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic, if applicable, for extended periods; occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs., bend, stoop, or reach as needed. Frequent use of hands and fingers for patient care and equipment operation. Must have normal (or corrected) vision and hearing and be able to respond quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment, if applicable.
