Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and process all paperwork and electronic documents for client tax preparation.
- Manage internal accounting portal for clients, including organizing client documents, uploading tax forms, tracking information requests, and ensuring all necessary documents are obtained for tax filings.
- Pro-active approach to following up with clients, advisors, and tax managers on projects to keep the returns moving towards deadlines.
- Input client tax data for individual and business tax filings, and review software-imported information to ensure accuracy and efficiency, aiming to minimize the need for reviewer adjustments.
- Ability to receive and digest review notes on work performed.
- Compile and arrange all required tax forms and documentation for individual, trusts, and business tax filings, adhering to current tax regulations.
- Prepare and share any adjusting entries made to client’s books and records
- Assist in identifying potential tax deductions, credits, and strategies specific to individual clients.
- Provide support to Tax Managers in preparing tax projections for clients.
- Assist in digesting notices received by the clients from IRS or state jurisdictions. Facilitate requesting any necessary information from the client, advisors, or managers to resolve the notice. Following up with the IRS or state jurisdictions to resolve notices.
- Contact clients for clarification on missing or incomplete information, ensuring the applicable Tax Manager is informed.
- Provide updates on the status of tax returns to clients, advisors, and the Tax Managers.
- Maintain accurate notes and records in the CRM, tax software, and client folder on company server.
- Provide support with special projects and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA license a plus.
- 5-8 years of tax experience with proven ability to prepare tax returns for individual, S Corporations, Partnership and Trust tax returns.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks; experience with tax software (CCH AXCESS, TaxCaddy, ShareFile, DocuSign) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and interpersonal.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage high-volume workflow and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing effectively in team environments.
- Occasional travel may be required
- Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, non-exempt + bonus
