We empower companies to help all their employees be the best version of themselves, and believe in meeting people wherever they are in their mental health journey.
Modern Health is backed by investors like Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, John Doerr, Y Combinator, and Battery Ventures and raised more than $170 million in less than two years, making Modern Health the fastest entirely female-founded company in the U.S. to reach Unicorn status.

We are looking for driven, creative, and passionate individuals to join in our mission. An inclusive and diverse culture are key components of mental well-being in the workplace, and that starts with how we build our own team. If you're excited about a role, we'd love to hear from you!
The Role
Modern Health is looking for a Program Manager to own and drive cross-functional business and partnership programs. Reporting to our Lead Program Manager, you'll independently manage day-to-day execution and make the operational decisions that keep internal and external partnerships on track across Product & Tech, Clinical, Operations, Go-to-Market, Legal & Compliance, Finance, and external health partners.
This is a role for a builder in the earlier chapters of their program management career: you'll own meaningful workstreams and initiatives with full accountability and autonomy from day one, exercising independent judgment while partnering with experienced program leadership on the most complex, strategic decisions. Strong performers will grow toward leading Modern Health's largest, most strategic programs end-to-end.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Hawaii.
What You'll Do
- Own and drive business and partnership programs — independently manage workstreams across ongoing internal and external partner operations, launches, and implementations, determining priorities, sequencing, and how deliverables, owners, and timelines are kept on track
- Own external partner relationships — serve as the day-to-day operational decision-maker for assigned partners: set check-in cadences, manage commitments, and hold partners accountable to SLAs and quality standards
- Direct cross-functional execution — align and unblock stakeholders across Clinical, Operations, Go-to-Market, Legal & Compliance, and Finance, resolving conflicts and making the judgment calls needed to keep programs moving
- Design the operational backbone — build and own the program plans, trackers, documentation, and playbooks that determine how programs run predictably and don't depend on any one person's memory
- Own program health — evaluate success metrics, independently assess risks and issues, and decide when to resolve directly versus escalate with a recommended path forward
- Run business operating rhythms — lead partnership business reviews, own status reporting and planning cycles, and prepare and deliver recommendations to leadership
- Improve how we work — identify and implement process improvements that make partner operations faster, smoother, and more scalable
- Finish the job — see workstreams through past launch to long-term optimization and post-launch learnings
Who You Are / Requirements
- An emerging business athlete — organized, adaptable, and energized by using independent judgment to turn partially defined problems into clear plans, priorities, and decisions
- 3+ years of experience in program management, project management, or operations in a complex, cross-functional environment
- Strong program management fundamentals — planning, sequencing, milestone and dependency tracking, and risk management, with exceptional attention to detail
- A documentation and systems thinker — you naturally reach for playbooks, templates, and repeatable processes instead of doing the same manual task 100 times
- A clear communicator — you give stakeholders proactive visibility into your work, run effective meetings, and capture decisions and action items so nothing falls through the cracks
- Comfortable with ambiguity and biased toward action — you ask sharp questions, propose solutions rather than waiting for instructions, and know when to escalate
- Experienced working with external partners, vendors, or clients — comfortable balancing relationship-building with holding others accountable to commitments
- Collaborative, with high empathy and high accountability — you support your teammates, give and receive direct feedback, and hold yourself to a high bar
- Growth-minded — you actively seek feedback and are excited to grow toward leading larger, more complex programs end-to-end
- Deeply motivated by Modern Health's mission and passionate about enabling better mental health outcomes at scale
- Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be able to maintain work authorization for the duration of employment without employer sponsorship or employer-provided training plans or attestations (including, for example, the Form I-983 required for STEM OPT).
Bonus Points
- Experience in digital health or working with health-related products, services, or partnerships
- Experience in a high-growth startup or similarly dynamic environment where building while flying is the norm
- Experience with partner or client-facing implementations — onboarding, integrations, or managed services
