ModMed is hiring a driven Senior Information Security Engineer to join our positive, passionate, and high-performing Information Security team. The incumbent will work closely with the Sr. Director of Security Engineering and Architecture to drive the successful execution of security initiatives, ensuring projects are on track and outcomes are measurable. This role requires expertise in Jira, Confluence, and automation scripting to surface real-time metrics, streamline workflows, and enable data-driven decision-making. The Sr. Security Engineer will also serve as an embedded representative to the broader engineering organization, ensuring security dependencies are understood, prioritized, and addressed.
Your Role:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Jira dashboards, Confluence reporting, and automated scripts to provide visibility into progress, risks, and blockers across security engineering and architecture projects.
- Partner with security engineering, architecture, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables, proactively identify risks, and facilitate solutions to remove blockers.
- Represent the Security Engineering and Architecture teams within the engineering organization, ensuring our priorities are communicated, dependencies are captured, and support is secured.
- Identify and implement improvements to security project workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Leverage development experience to automate workflows, improve tool integrations, and create scripts to support operational efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in Confluence to ensure transparency, repeatability, and continuity.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years in security engineering, software engineering, or technical program coordination.
- Proven experience with Jira and Confluence administration.
- Experience automating reporting and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in metrics design, tracking, and reporting.
