Remote Part-Time Clinical Assessment Specialist

Modern Recovery Network is a fast-growing mental health treatment organization that owns and operates multiple behavioral health centers in Arizona and Idaho. The Clinical Assessment Specialist is the first step in clinical care for clients seeking behavioral health treatment services. The Clinical Assessment Specialist is responsible for the professional and accurate completion of the comprehensive assessment documentation, initial treatment plans, and evidence-based screening tools.

This role includes meeting with the client, and their guardian if applicable, establishing rapport with all individuals present, and gathering confidential information in an efficacious and professional manner. Under the general direction of the agency’s UR Director, the Clinical Assessment Specialist is responsible for providing initial client assessment and follow-up coordination of care.

The Clinical Assessment Specialist’s primary function is the completion of all initial clinical assessment documentation (Biopsychosocial assessments) for all facilities. The Clinical Assessment Specialist is also responsible for reinforcing programmatic structure as it pertains to the efficient and therapeutic operations of the facility, including safety management, emergency procedures, and non-violent crisis intervention. The Clinical Assessment Specialist maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all clients.

This is a remote position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Understands and educates clients on the continuum of care.

2. Complete individualized treatment plan goals and objectives within designated timeframes.

3. Works collectively with the clinical team to engage, educate, and coordinate client care with the client, their identified supports, and community providers to ensure all services recommended are implemented.

4. Actively participate in the development and assessment of individual treatment and service plans.

5. Completes intake Biopsychosocial Assessments, including all electronic forms required by MRN and/or third-party payors.

6. Evaluates clients' mental and physical health, addiction severity, and/or problem behavior and assesses their readiness for treatment and articulates clinical rationale for recommended level of care.

7. Reviews and recommends treatment options with clients, including their families, as indicated.

8. Utilizes recognized evidence based modalities, such as motivational interviewing, and stages of change in the assessment process.

9. Exhibit knowledge of all continuums of care, including admission assessment and continued stay criteria.

11. Acts as an advocate for all clients when working with external providers and speaking on their behalf.

12. Documents all work in the Electronic Health Record.

13. Conducts assessments or screenings with clients to evaluate the nature of their presenting problems in order to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.

14. Has responsibility for intake and assessment documentation. Prepares clinical progress notes, event notifications, and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

15. Responsible for ownership of all initial clinical responsibilities, including collaboration with other agency staff to ensure effective resolution of client, family, and documentation concerns.

16. Serves as point of contact for coordination of care for all assigned client concerns, crisis intervention, and collaboration with external parties, including client family members, community providers, and other agency members as appropriate.

17. Maintains a high level of ethical conduct and behavior.

18. Report any unusual client behavior or suspicious activity to the appropriate leadership team member.

19. Completes other tasks as assigned and directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

o Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred

o 2-years experience working in behavioral health preferred

o Knowledge of ASAM criteria & dual diagnosis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

o AZDPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (will be required to obtain)

o Current CPR/First Aid Certification (will be required to obtain)

o Assigned part-time work schedule is dependent on agency needs and may include working differing schedules/time zones to accommodate business need.

Pay: From $24/ hour
