The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco: 

Moloco Commerce Media (MCM) 

• enables marketplaces to leverage the recent advances in AI for delivering tailored ads to relevant users, driven by first-party data. MCM has established a strong product market with several leading marketplaces working with us to show relevant ads. 
• We’ve established our MCM’s product market fit with strong interest in our product. MCM is an important product that is key to Moloco’s continued success and is in a high growth phase. The science team supports MCM's growth by supporting the launch of new features through modeling, algorithmic and analytical excellence. As a Senior Applied Scientist focused on ML in MCM, you will have the opportunity to work on and improve various components of our ad-tech stack including ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding and budget pacing. We highly value prior experience in working in ad-tech. 

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct deep-dive analysis to influence R&D decisions and strategies: analyze large datasets, extract valuable signals out of noise, and design state of the art machine learning models to optimize Moloco’s complex bidding system. 
• Design and deploy advanced optimization approaches to improve our ad-delivery: identifying the best ranking, retrieval and bidding strategies that strike the right balance between ROI and revenue trade-offs. 
• Leveraging the latest advances in deep learning to evaluate and improve our search quality. 
• Build the right metrics for product areas and guide ramps with domain data expertise: improve performance monitoring of a large and complex ads ecosystem by establishing the right metric framework, and understanding cause-and-effect relationships across drivers; guiding ramp decisions through rigorous A/B testing.

Basic Qualifications:

• MS or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline with exposure to advanced modeling and statistical techniques. 
• 6+ years of work experience (industry or postgraduate) in data science related fields or an advanced degree such as Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Java or C++ 
• Past experience with ad-tech/ranking/retrieval and/or search quality is preferred.

Preferred: 

• 4+ years of experience (industry or postgraduate) in Data Science, with a heavy focus on experimentation and causal inference in a high-growth tech environment (AdTech  preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Able to seek out new business questions and effectively scope projects to improve our ML model performance.
