The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco:

Moloco is a machine learning-powered performance advertising platform trusted by top mobile marketers to deliver real business outcomes. Our in-house Creative Studio produces data-driven ad creatives across video, playable, static, UGC, and app store formats to support some of the most engaging mobile apps in the world. 

As a Creative Designer at Moloco, you will create engaging ad creatives that support global performance campaigns across mobile gaming and app categories. You will work on a variety of formats including video, motion graphics, UGC-style content, and static ads. This role blends strong visual execution with a data-informed creative mindset. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and vendors while learning how performance insights influence creative success.

The Opportunity:

  • Hybrid Design Execution
    Act as a Hybrid CG Generalist with strengths in both Motion Graphics and Graphic Design. Own end-to-end creative execution, from concept development through final delivery and iteration. Stay up-to-date with UGC trends, emerging video styles, mobile advertising best practices, and platform-native design standards. Serve as the team’s go-to motion expert, providing guidance on motion quality, feasibility, and best practices across projects.
  • Data-Driven Design
    Use performance data as a daily input to creative decision-making, translating insights into visual concepts and execution strategies. Iterate on creatives leveraging performance metrics (IPM, CTR, ROAS), actively forming hypotheses, testing variations, and applying learnings to improve outcomes across campaigns.Demonstrate clear influence on performance results beyond execution, contributing to measurable creative impact.
  • Visual Content Production
    Plan, design, and produce high-quality visual content across branding, marketing, and digital channels, with a strong focus on mobile advertising creatives. Support the development of high-performing mobile ads by creating engaging, platform-native creatives across video, motion graphics, UGC, and static formats. Edit UGC-style ads for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts using raw client or user footage. Apply advanced motion systems, modular animation frameworks, and performance-optimized motion principles (hooks, loops, pacing) to maximize engagement and retention.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner closely with global and local teams and cross-functional stakeholders to meet project goals and elevate creative quality. Act as a senior creative owner in discussions with Sales, Strategy, and Performance teams, aligning creative direction with business and performance objectives.Review outsourced assets from freelancers or vendor partners and provide clear, constructive feedback. Deliver high-quality QA and revisions aligned with creative briefs.
  • Design Leadership
    Help establish and elevate design standards, motion frameworks, and workflows within the team. Mentor junior designers not only on execution but also on motion thinking, performance-oriented design, and data-informed iteration. Maintain organized working files, templates, and export packages to ensure efficient delivery. Execute creative briefs with sensitivity to brand tone, genre nuances, and performance objectives.

 

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

  • Minimum Qualifications 
    • Experience Level
      5+ years of relevant professional experience in video, motion graphics, or visual design, suitable for a Senior Designer role.
    •  Core Skills
      Strong Hybrid CG Generalist capabilities with deep expertise in Motion Graphics. Portfolio must demonstrate mobile advertising work including videos, motion systems, or static campaigns, showcasing advanced animation timing, layout composition, design hierarchy, and performance-driven motion decisions.
    • Tool Proficiency
      Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).
    • Design Background
      Proven experience in mobile advertising or performance marketing environments (required for this role). Experience working in data-driven design contexts, with hands-on use of performance data on a day-to-day basis to guide creative iteration. Ability to edit short-form UGC or social-first content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
    • Language Skills
      • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese for daily communication and collaboration
      • Fluency in English for seamless professional communication
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Exceptional Design Sense
      Exceptional visual sensibility and a strong, well-curated portfolio.
    • 3D Skills
      Proficiency in 3D tools (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya) for asset handling, mockups, or light 3D tasks is a plus.
    • Collaboration Experience
      Experience working with external vendors or managing outsourced creative work. Ability to balance multiple projects, incorporate feedback effectively, and deliver high-quality results under deadlines.
    • Performance Knowledge
      Strong understanding of creative performance optimization, including how hooks, pacing, motion structure, and iteration strategies influence KPIs such as ROAS and CTR.
    • Technical Knowledge
      Familiarity with ASO asset formats and localization workflows.
    • Mindset
      Proactive problem solver with the ability to independently troubleshoot design challenges and take ownership of creative quality and outcomes.
    • AI Tools
      Interest in adopting AI-enhanced creative tools (e.g., Creatify, Alison.ai, Replai) to streamline production and experimentation.
