HR Generalist, Engineering

Prague, Czech Republic

About Momence

As a US-based company backed by Y Combinator (Summer 2020), and acquired by ClubEssential Holdings (March 2025), we are revolutionizing the experience economy by providing modern software solutions to an underserved industry.

Momence is a cutting-edge booking and communications platform for experience-based businesses, catering to yoga and pilates studios, gyms, dance schools, salons and spas, golf facilities, swim schools, and more. We empower thousands of businesses by facilitating scheduling and payments, streamlining communication, and automating their business backend. Our customer-facing Momence app is used by hundreds of thousands of customers monthly to book wellness experiences.

About the role

In an otherwise remote company, our Prague teammates have grown and thrived in a co-located, hybrid environment. We’ve found that this supports our Engineering operations in a way that’s uniquely energizing for this team, and we aim to further support this arrangement in hiring for this role.

The Prague-based HR Generalist serves as the sole technical recruiter and HR contact for the Engineering team in Prague. You’ll own and drive all local recruiting and people operations efforts for our Prague-based Engineering team, while acting as a key partner to the Director of Engineering.

As the Prague team’s HR Generalist, you can expect to impact the following responsibilities:

  • Tech recruitment: Lead the end-to-end, full cycle recruitment process for tech roles, including software engineers, engineering support, and designers, focusing on the Prague market, while occasionally supporting tech hiring efforts in other locations as needed.
  • Tech team growth: Collaborate with hiring managers and Engineering leadership to understand staffing needs, define strategically aligned candidate profiles, and ensure an inclusive, positive candidate experience.
  • Local recruitment presence: Attend fairs, meetups, and career events to represent the company, building relationships, and expand the talent pipeline.
  • People operations: Support Global People Ops teammates with projects and initiatives, providing additional support and insight - particularly as is pertinent to the Prague teammate experience - when needed.
    • Act as the point of contact for all Prague team members for any HR or People Ops questions, concerns, and inquiries, and resolve promptly.
    • Improve and maintain internal documentation and workflows (e.g., onboarding/offboarding, contract processes, hiring pipelines, survey feedback loops).
    • Evaluate tools (ClickUp, GDrive, Notion, etc.) and implement small operational improvements that benefit the local team.
  • Business Partnership: Work closely with our US-based Director of Engineering to ensure communication between the team and its leadership runs smoothly. Act as the main People
  • In-person team building: Support the team’s social connectivity and engagement.

This is a full time, contracted, hybrid position, for which we’re considering candidates who reside within commuting distance to downtown Prague, CZ. We ask that you maintain a regular office presence of 3 days per week, working 2 days remotely from a location of your choosing.

About you

You thrive as a technical recruiter and have a passion for supporting teams on multiple levels of HR. Approachable, communicative, organized, and thoughtful, you’re most engaged and energized when you can see the impact of your work on growing and supporting an exceptionally talented team. As an HR Generalist with technical recruiting experience, you’re confident in your ability to source, assess, and manage candidate experience to welcome highly qualified teammates with the potential to grow with our team. No stranger to tech orgs, you’re familiar with the speed and day-to-day operations of a fast-paced software development team, as well as the nuances of supporting a thriving engineering subculture.

If you want to impact the team member experience, both tenured and those you bring into an organization, we might just be a great fit!

What you should have

While we welcome experience from a wide range of careers and industry backgrounds, all candidates should meet the following qualifications for consideration:

  • 3+ combined years of experience as an HR Generalist and Technical Recruiter
  • Czech and English fluency: you’re a skilled written and verbal communicator, able to distill and communicate myriad ideas to both local and global audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end recruitment filling technical roles (software development and engineering, UX and UI architecture and design, web development, mobile and application development, etc.).
  • A knack for data-driven recruitment. You track and own your recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, quality of hire, candidate experience), leveraging this data to improve your own recruitment processes.
  • Experience in People Ops and HR work outside of recruitment. You thoughtfully prioritize tasks according to the needs of the Prague team, yet remain flexible and adaptable in a fast paced, growing environment.
  • Excellent people skills; you’re an approachable, skilled communicator who’s thoughtful in balancing the needs of a candidate or teammate experience against the need for teamwide and business success.
  • Experience working and collaborating effectively across multiple time zones and geographies; you leverage your in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous organization and communication to build trusted working partnerships regardless of location.
  • You’re familiar with the Czech talent market and understand the nuances of working with freelance (ICO) teammates.

We’ll be particularly excited if you also have

  • Experience recruiting in or for early-stage startups (seed through Series B or similar).
  • Experience in an HRBP or similar role.
  • Strong network connections in the tech, developer, startup, or incubator spaces in Prague.
  • Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and love for “making things better”.

At Momence, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment where there is respect, regardless of your background or identity. We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
