Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Manager will support the day-to-day and monthly accounting operations of Momentous, helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and continuous process improvement. This individual will work closely with the Financial Controller (to whom this role reports) and cross-functional teams, playing a key role in building and scaling our accounting infrastructure in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow), in compliance with GAAP
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy across all accounts
- Support monthly reporting to management, external investors, and/or lenders
- Prepare variance analyses and explain key drivers and trends in financial performance
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation
- Collaborate on the implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools
- Manage day-to-day banking, reconciliations, and cash management activities
- Coordinate with external consultants on domestic and international tax filings
- Support annual financial statement audit and serve as a key point of contact for auditors
- Partner with the Financial Controller on special projects, including system upgrades, new product launches, and operational efficiencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in a high-growth eCommerce or CPG environment
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Start-up or scale-up experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Shopify, Amazon FBA, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and inventory management platforms (Cin7 a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
