The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Privacy Attorney with 5-7 years of practice in the field of data protection and privacy law to join us in the role of Senior Counsel, Privacy. In this role, you’ll serve as the internal subject matter expert for all of the Momentum companies. You'll also contribute in a collaborative, innovative environment and be part of our mission to enable, accelerate, and empower our partners at Momentum companies, allowing them to deliver best-in-class solutions for their customers. About This Role at Momentum
As Senior Counsel, Privacy on our legal team at Momentum, your days will be dynamic and filled with opportunities to contribute to our mission. Here's a glimpse into what your overall responsibilities might look like:
- Advise on various aspects of global and regional privacy laws and regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection frameworks.
- Review, draft, and negotiate data protection and privacy aspects of commercial agreements, including data processing agreements and vendor contracts.
- Develop and maintain privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, technology, and product development, to ensure compliance in all aspects of data use and protection.
- Provide training to employees on privacy-related matters, enhancing awareness and ensuring compliance across the organization.
- Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes that affect the company’s operations globally and advise on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
- Serve as an SME on privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default reviews, privacy impact assessments, and data protection impact assessments
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a J.D. degree from an accredited law school with admission to the bar in at least one state.
- Possesses 5-7 years of relevant experience in privacy and data protection law. Experience in privacy matters related to the advertising industry is a plus.
- Demonstrates excellent understanding of the technology and media landscapes, including emerging trends and legal challenges.
- Has the ability to build relationships, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and support multiple businesses..
- Displays empathy and flexibility.
- Excels in communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues to non-experts and influencing stakeholders.
- Has a demonstrated history of strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex legal issues.
- Is passionate in building and sustaining successful businesses and making a positive impact.
- Can handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity and remaining agile.

The base salary range for this position may vary based on location. Actual compensation will be determined by role, level, and location, considering additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. For roles eligible for remote work, the base salary is tailored to the designated work location. In addition to the base salary, candidates may be eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus, determined based on both the company's business performance and individual contributions. The People & Culture team will provide specific details during the hiring process.
