Job Description

You will be responsible as part of the central Cloud team for the effective and efficient deployment and operation of infrastructure and applications that are fault-tolerant and secure, predominantly in an AWS cloud environment. Note: This is an engineering role, not a BAU or support type role. You will have the opportunity to help shape the future cloud landscape of the organization.

*Candidates must reside in the GTA area to be considered for this role. This is a hybrid role & candidates are required to be on-site at the Toronto Corporate Office for 3 days a week at minimum.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, manage, administer and automate all enterprise cloud and related infrastructure services and solutions.
  • Engineer comprehensive solutions for new or migrated applications, ensuring alignment across all pillars of the AWS well-architected framework.
  • Building out CI/CD pipelines, creation of golden AMI’s, patching solutions and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Perform continuous reviews of security measures implemented and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist all technology teams with their transition to the cloud and ensure all teams utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) to effect change and that the environment features the required controls and audit components to validate resource compliance.
  • Define and implement all operational components required to proactively monitor and manage the production environment, identify operational issues and maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 5+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 5+ years experience in Cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR equivalent experience.

What you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience writing production grade quality code.
  • 5+ years of experience automating infrastructure deployment using Terraform.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions on AWS in a multi-account environment.
  • Strong scripting skills using either Python, Bash or PowerShell. Python is preferred.
  • Demonstrated hands-on working knowledge across a range of AWS services.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS network & security services, i.e. DNS, DHCP, Load balancer, IAM, KMS, Shield, WAF, and GuardDuty, Security Hub to ensure compliance and data protection.
  • 5+ years of experienced with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub (GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with AWS Core infrastructure services including EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, and Lambda for creating and managing scalable solutions.

Preferred:

  • Financial Services experience.
  • Experience with multiple cloud platforms (e.g. Azure).
  • Experience with microservices based architectures, i.e. Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, etc.
  • FinOps and Cost-optimization.
