GENERAL FUNCTION

Reporting into the Director Project Management Office (PMO), the Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements to support key projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams ensuring that business needs are accurately translated into functional and technical solutions. This role will also play a crucial part in supporting process improvements and data analysis to align with the organization's business objectives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and functional requirements for projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct process analysis and identify areas for improvement; recommend optimized solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including IT, Finance, Operations, and Product Management—to define project scope, gather requirements, and support delivery of key initiatives.
  • Perform gap analysis between current and future state business processes and systems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as business requirements, functional requirement specifications, process maps and user stories.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify trends, measure project impact and provide insights for business decision-making.
  • Support the development and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) by defining test cases, validating results, and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to promote seamless communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Assist in change management efforts, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and tools.
  • Monitor and communicate project risks and dependencies; ensuring transparency with stakeholders and leadership.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional or equivalent certification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry.
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall project environments, with familiarity in methodologies such as Scrum
  • Experience using business analysis tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, or Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of financial services products, processes, and industry regulations.
  • Proficient in conducting business process modeling and gap analysis
  • Experience in change management and stakeholder engagement to support seamless business transitions.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, interviews and discussions to elicit business and technical requirements.
