JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to support Momentus. This role will serve as a key member of the Company’s accounting and external reporting function, with primary responsibility for SEC reporting and technical accounting while also playing an important role in the broader accounting operations of the Company. This role will partner closely with the Controller and accounting team to support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, SEC filings, and audit deliverables. The ideal candidate is a technically strong accounting professional who is comfortable operating in a small, fast-paced public company environment and is willing to take ownership across a broad range of accounting and reporting activities. This individual should enjoy working through complex accounting issues, developing practical solutions, improving processes, and partnering cross-functionally to support the Company’s financial reporting and accounting objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key contributor of the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, coordination of supporting schedules, disclosures, and related deliverables
- Prepare and/or review primary financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Partner with the Controller and accounting team in the quarterly and annual close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules
- Serve as a key member of the external audit process, including coordinating audit requests, preparing and reviewing audit deliverables and supporting documentation, managing the audit PBC process, and working with the external auditors to resolve accounting and reporting matters
- Partner cross-functionally including Supply Chain, Legal and HR, and other stakeholders to evaluate and appropriately account for business transactions and activities
- Support technical accounting assessments and documentation for complex transactions and research new accounting standards and SEC guidance; assess applicability and implementation impact
- Draft clear, well-supported technical accounting memos and communicate conclusions to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting, reporting, and close processes and help design and implement scalable processes and controls as the Company grows.
- Support the Company’s SOX and internal control activities, including documentation, control execution, testing support, remediation, and process improvement, as applicable
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Company’s accounting policies, financial reporting requirements, and internal controls, and proactively identify potential accounting or reporting issues

Desired Skills and Experience:
- NetSuite ERP experience preferred
- Experience working in a technical accounting role in a growth stage / startup company
- Previous experience working on DoD and other USG development and deployment programs
Education & Work Experience:
- BS degree in Accounting, or a closely related discipline
- CPA strongly preferred
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred) and/or direct SEC reporting experience at a public company
- 10+ year relevant experience.
Compensation:
Annual Base Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required.
