Senior Partnership Sales Manager
WHO WE ARE
Monetary is the financial cloud-based treasury and accounting platform built specifically for government and nonprofit finance professionals. More than 2,000 organizations - including local governments, public universities, and health systems - use Monetary to manage debt, cash, investments, leases, and subscriptions in one platform.
We've built the most sophisticated treasury platform in public finance — sitting at the intersection of treasury management and a $4 trillion fixed income market that's been waiting for modern infrastructure.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Monetary is seeking an ambitious, public-sector-savvy Senior Partner Sales Manager to help influence and execute our partner ecosystem strategy. This is not a pure execution role. You will help define where we play, which partners matter most, and how we win together, then go out and make it happen.
Under the strategic direction of GTM leadership, you will develop high-impact alliances across the government finance ecosystem: treasury and banking providers, investment and capital markets firms, ERP and financial systems platforms, municipal advisors, and the firms that serve public finance officers every day. Success means measurable, partner-driven revenue, pipeline and a stronger Monetary presence across the public sector market.
The role works closely with Partner Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Professional Services, Product, and Finance, and reports to the Director of Partnerships.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Shape the strategy
- Influence the partner strategy. Work with the Director of Partnerships, Product Leadership and C-Suite to drive the partner strategy including partner types and industry segments
- Map the ecosystem. Build and maintain a clear view of the public finance landscape across treasury, banking, investments, ERP, and advisory, and identify where partnerships can grow revenue.
- Internal advocacy. Share partner and customer insight with Product and Leadership to inform integrations, roadmap, and positioning.
Drive execution
- Support partner and channel expansion. Identify future partners such as ERPs, banks and treasury service providers, investment advisors and capital markets firms, municipal advisors, CPA and audit firms, and consultancies serving government finance.
- Build joint business plans. Set shared targets, territories, and go-to-market plans with each strategic partner, and hold both sides accountable.
- Drive partner-sourced and partner-influenced revenue. Generate and progress opportunities from first introduction through close.
- Co-sell. Work deals alongside partners and Monetary AEs, aligning on account ownership and deal strategy.
- Forecast. Own an accurate, disciplined forecast of partner pipeline and bookings, and report on it to leadership.
- Run co-marketing. Collaborate with Marketing on joint campaigns, webinars, content, and event programs that generate demand through the channel.
Be a visible presence in the industry
- Represent Monetary in market. Attend and work national, state, and regional events, including GFOA, The Bond Buyer, AFP, NACUBO, and state GFOA and treasurer associations.
- Build the network. Turn conference and association relationships into partner conversations, joint pipeline, and thought leadership opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
REQUIRED
- 7+ years in B2B SaaS or fintech, with at least 3 years in a quota-carrying partner, channel, alliances, or strategic partnerships role
- Direct experience in the public sector market: selling to, partnering with, or working in state and local government, higher education, or other public entities
- Domain experience in fintech, treasury management, banking, investments, or ERP and financial systems, and an understanding of how public finance offices buy and use technology
- A track record of recruiting new partners and turning them into a consistent source of pipeline and closed revenue
- Comfort carrying a quota and forecasting accurately against it
- Strong pitching and negotiation skills, including structuring partner agreements and commercial terms
- Executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with partner leadership and GTM teams
- Experience co-selling alongside a direct sales team and resolving territory or account conflicts
- Willingness to travel regularly for partner meetings, customer visits, and industry events
- Proficiency with Salesforce or a similar CRM
PREFERRED
- An existing network among ERP vendors, banks, investment advisors, municipal advisors, public accounting firms, or GovTech providers
- Working knowledge of public finance concepts such as municipal debt, cash and investment management, GASB 87/96, and fund accounting
- Active involvement in GFOA, AFP, NACUBO, The Bond Buyer community, or state finance officer associations
- Background as a public finance practitioner (treasury, finance, or budget office)
