About the Job

As the Group Finance Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of MoneyHero Group, ensuring financial stability, profitability, and regulatory compliance across the region. You will oversee financial operations, budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning, supporting key business decisions and working closely with senior leadership, including the Board, C-Suite, and Group Leadership. You will also liaise with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure transparent and compliant financial reporting, and oversee the Group’s financial risk management and internal control framework to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.

This position requires a high level of expertise in financial management and leadership within a fast-paced, high-growth digital business environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:

    • Lead the development and execution of the group’s financial strategy, aligned with overall business objectives
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and Board to support strategic decision-making
    • Partner with the CEO Office team to ensure robust financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario planning for business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and market expansions
  • Financial Operations:

    • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and compliance
    • Ensure the timely preparation of accurate financial reports, management accounts, and statutory filings
    • Monitor financial performance against key metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive cost-efficiency measures
  • Listed Company & Regulatory Reporting:

    • Oversee all financial reporting obligations as a publicly listed company, ensuring full compliance with Nasdaq and SEC requirements while maintaining high standards of financial transparency
    • Collaborate closely with Investor Relations in preparing financial statements, reports, and presentations for earnings calls and investor meetings
    • Ensure the Group’s ongoing compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements, including reporting deadlines, disclosure obligations, and internal control standards
  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Ensure the group complies with financial regulations across the jurisdictions where MoneyHero Group operates
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency
    • Oversee audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring development and performance management in line with business objectives
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence within the finance function
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments (e.g., product, sales, marketing and technology) to ensure alignment between financial plans and business strategies
    • Provide commercial finance support to the business, driving value creation in key growth areas

In this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable
  • Professional certification such as CPA and ACCA
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably with at least 5 years of experience in a U.S.-listed or U.S. reporting environment (e.g., Nasdaq or NYSE)
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. regulatory and reporting requirements, including experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and PCAOB audit standards
  • Strong accounting background, preferably with prior working experience in Big 4
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels

Good to have:

  • Native or professional fluency in English and Cantonese, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with local teams and stakeholders across Hong Kong, Singapore, and other APAC countries.

Who may have access to personal data?

Your information will be shared internally within the Group for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes with members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy, internal and external auditors and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

Your personal data will be shared with Greenhouse Software, Inc., a cloud services provider located in the United States of America and engaged by MoneyHero Group to help manage its recruitment and hiring process on MoneyHero Group’s behalf.

MoneyHero Group may share your personal data with third parties in order to, obtain pre-employment references from other employers, obtain employment background checks from third party providers and to obtain necessary criminal record checks.

How long do we hold your personal data?

Your personal data will be retained by the Group for so long as the Group determines it is reasonably necessary to evaluate your application for employment. If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment in accordance with the contract of employment and our internal privacy policy.

For unsuccessful candidates, we will retain the personal data provided during the application process for a period of two (2) years. This is to maintain accurate recruitment records, prevent duplicate applications, and to allow us to consider you for future opportunities that may match your profile. After this period, your data will be securely deleted from our systems. Should you wish to request the deletion of your data before the end of this retention period, you may contact us at legal-team@moneyherogroup.com.

What if you do not supply your personal data?
