The Platform Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Platform Architecture & Technical Direction: Own the architecture and roadmap of our cloud platform. Drive key infrastructure decisions, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers across teams.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPCs), with high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery built in. AWS is our primary cloud, with exposure to GCP and Azure.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain Terraform configurations to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.
  • Kubernetes & Container Orchestration: Manage and scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, overseeing deployment, scaling, and operation of containerized workloads across multiple environments.
  • GitOps & Continuous Delivery: Use ArgoCD to manage GitOps workflows and fully automated deployments to Kubernetes clusters.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications.
  • Networking: Own core networking, including VPC design, routing and peering, DNS, load balancing, and network security controls.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar) to track infrastructure health and surface issues before they impact the business.
  • AI Infrastructure: Provision and operate the infrastructure behind our AI-powered products, including managed AI services (e.g., AWS Bedrock), secure API key and secrets management, and usage and cost monitoring, with the access controls and audit logging needed to meet AI governance expectations in our markets.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement cloud security best practices, manage IAM roles and policies, safeguard sensitive data through encryption and access controls, and support compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration & Optimization: Work closely with development and operations teams to continuously improve infrastructure processes, performance, and automation, including cost optimization as business demands evolve.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level support for infrastructure and cloud issues and lead incident response for platform-level problems, ensuring fast resolution and minimal downtime.

Skills (we are looking for someone with):

  • 10+ years of DevOps/Platform engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes design, build, and operation.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC) and cloud infrastructure management (required).
  • Strong practical experience with ArgoCD and GitOps workflows (required); other Kubernetes-native CD tools a plus.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
  • Solid experience managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS and/or self-managed) and deploying containerized applications at scale, with strong Docker expertise.
  • Strong networking fundamentals: VPC design, routing, DNS, load balancing, and network security controls.
  • Experience with modern CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and deployment pipeline automation.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM and network security.
  • Exposure to running AI/LLM workloads in production (managed AI services such as AWS Bedrock, API and secret management, cost monitoring), strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Azure and GCP a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • High degree of autonomy, comfortable owning initiatives end-to-end from design through operation.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
