Senior DevOps Engineer

We have a diverse, distributed technology team working across APAC, collaborating closely with product, design, data, and business stakeholders. Our engineers build and operate systems that directly support customer journeys, partner integrations, and internal operations, with a strong emphasis on ownership, clarity of thinking, and long-term maintainability.

Mission

As a Software Developer at MoneySmart, you will design, build, and maintain end-to-end software solutions that power our consumer-facing products and internal platforms. You will work across backend and frontend systems, collaborate closely with product and design, and take ownership from problem definition through to production delivery.

You are expected to use AI-assisted development tools as part of your daily workflow, while applying strong engineering fundamentals, critical thinking, and judgment to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable. 

Responsibilities

• Own production reliability outcomes for services (availability, scalability, cost-efficiency, and security) from early design through implementation and operations
• Architect, deploy, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure following best practices 
• Lead incident response, RCAs and run post-incident reviews
• Build and maintain “everything as code” infrastructure using Terraform/CloudFormation
• Operate, scale, and evolve the container platform (Kubernetes/EKS/ECS)
• Design, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and repeatable releases
• Integrate security tools, practices, and controls into CI/CD and DevOps workflows including container image scanning, runtime security controls, IAM best practices, and secure secret management
• Continuously assess and reduce cloud security risks through automated guardrails, compliance enforcement, and monitoring
• Establish and mature observability practices (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting) to improve system visibility and reduce incident resolution time
• Drive automation to eliminate operational toil across infrastructure provisioning, deployments, monitoring, access management, and routine maintenance tasks
• Promote an AI-first engineering culture by leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate scripting, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational analysis
• Design and prototype agentic solutions for automating repetitive DevOps workflows
• Mentor peers, define platform standards, and raise the engineering bar to improve consistency, resilience, and knowledge sharing across teams

Requirements

Must Haves

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering, including proven ownership of production services and operational outcomes
• Strong AWS expertise, including cloud networking fundamentals; ability to design and operate scalable, resilient cloud infrastructures
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure security principles, including network security, IAM design, encryption, and secure architecture patterns
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes at production scale (EKS strongly preferred), including cluster operations, workload scaling, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
• Strong CI/CD engineering skills across modern systems, with a track record of improving delivery reliability and speed
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform 
• Scripting-level proficiency in Python and comfort with Bash/shell for automation and operational tooling
• Strong observability skills: ability to build operational insight across metrics/logs/traces, and to tune alerting for actionability 
• AI-first mindset: demonstrated use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and quality 
• Experience in building AI assisted solutions to automate repetitive DevOps workflows
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, partnering across departments, writing clear documentation/runbooks, and mentoring peers

Good to Haves

• Experience with CircleCI, Datadog and Scalyr would be a plus
• Experience in embedding security tools and controls into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting compliance needs
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience
