VP of Engineering

The Opportunity

Monstro is seeking a Head of Engineering (VP level) to lead the technical development of our AI-native platform and shape the next generation of intelligent banking infrastructure. This is a foundational role where you’ll own Monstro’s technology vision, architecture, and execution across both our consumer and institutional products.

You’ll architect and scale systems that unify wealth, tax, legal, and investment data - powering real-time insights, automation, and action for millions of users. As Monstro’s senior-most technical leader, you’ll build and lead a world-class engineering organization, balancing speed, precision, and innovation.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and data leadership to define our technical roadmap, deliver across aggressive timelines, and set the engineering culture that embodies Monstro’s principles—velocity, accountability, creativity, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and execute Monstro’s technical roadmap, balancing near-term delivery with long-term scalability.

  • Architect secure, global infrastructure supporting real-time intelligence, personalization, and compliance.

• Leadership & Execution

  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team grounded in Monstro’s core principles: Fast Learner, Accountable, Efficient, and Forward-Thinking.

  • Drive product development from 0→1 and scale into enterprise-grade systems.

  • Establish clear technical OKRs, sprint cadences, and documentation standards to drive execution velocity.

• AI Integration

  • Embed applied AI into every layer of Monstro’s platform, from insights generation to automation.

  • Partner with AI engineers and data teams to operationalize intelligence at scale—beyond prototypes.

• Culture & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with product, design, and data to ensure clarity, accountability, and shared success.

  • Foster a culture of Resilience, Feedback-Seeking, and Startup Mentality—where the team iterates fast, learns faster, and always builds toward impact.

• Security & Trust

  • Ensure Monstro meets and exceeds global standards for data privacy, security, and financial compliance.

  • Champion best-in-class DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and reliability practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years leading technical teams in high-growth or complex environments.

• Proven track record building and scaling products in fintech, AI/ML, or similarly data-driven sectors.

• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, APIs, distributed systems, and data architecture.

• Hands-on experience developing AI-powered products at scale.

• Strong grasp of agile methodologies, CI/CD, testing, and automation.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Deep understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices.
