Position Overview:

The Associate Producer is responsible for assisting the entire production team in all phases of planning and implementing daily programming. This role will fully participate in planning meetings, offer segment ideas, support requests for statistics and data, work with production technology, and collaborate with other production personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with show producers to plan for daily broadcasts including pregame and postgame shows, alternate game broadcasts, and live or taped specials.
  • Assist the show producer in the control room with creating rundowns, segment timing, building graphics, choosing soundbites, logging game highlights, and designing telestration plays.
  • Attend meetings that generate ideas for show segments, offer input on storylines, and research statistics.
  • Lead in producing shorter pre-produced segments for use on linear and digital platforms, and longer shows when required.
  • Assist editors by gathering video, writing scripts, and helping with the editing decision-making process.
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for production assistants.
  • Distribute paperwork to control room personnel, engineering, and management.
  • Work in the field on remote shoots assisting reporters and photographers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a professional television production facility.
  • Knowledgeable about sports lingo, strategy, teams, leagues, and players.
  • Ability to make decisions in a high pressure live television environment.
  • Knowledge of live television production processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • An interest in sports and MSE’s teams.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay Range: $70k - 80k USD.
