The Role

As our Business Banking Growth Partnerships Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our ambitious growth targets. With 1 in 6 new businesses applying for a Monzo Business account. We’re now setting our sights on the switcher market. You’ll lead the charge in identifying and developing strategic partnerships to expand our footprint in the switcher segment and create pathways for sustainable growth.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Partnership Strategy & Execution: Develop a growth partnership strategy that supports our ambition to acquire businesses across segments for our various products and leverages partnerships for a mutually beneficial growth & value creation.
  • Strategic Framework Development: Create a prioritisation framework for evaluating partnership opportunities, ensuring each initiative aligns with Monzo’s mission to empower businesses.
  • Switcher Acquisition Focus: Drive strategies targeting switchers, moving away from high-volume/low-revenue channels to niche, targeted partnership channels that appeal to this audience. Propose solutions to reach switchers and explore the need for a potential sales team to unlock growth.
  • Expansion of current partnerships: Support the build out and scale of current partnership pilots (e.g., accountant affiliates, cross-sell with distribution partners). You’ll develop hypotheses, track performance, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • New Partnerships & Business Development: Identify, scout, and build relationships with potential partners who align with our growth ambitions. This includes developing a growth partnership strategy and managing current partnerships, identifying areas for expansion, and working to create scalable solutions.
  • Commercial Impact Analysis: Deliver commercial analysis, business cases, and sizing exercises for your strategy and to prioritise high-impact partnership opportunities.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Optimise existing partnerships and implement new ones including performance analysis, ideate improvements, and drive implementation and governance
  • Drive growth partnership strategy across the team and lead discussions with marketing, product, and engineering teams to enhance partnership integration, address customer acquisition goals, and gather insights.
  • Collaborate with and mentor more junior colleagues working with you on growth partnerships, supporting them to maximise their impact and developing their partnerships skillset.
  • Develop business cases for your strategy and partnerships and prepare data-backed recommendations on partnership potential.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Product Growth, Risk, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Compliance) and cross-collective to align on partnership strategy and drive execution.
  • Maintain a finger on the pulse of industry trends and competitor movements to inform partnership strategy and uncover new market opportunities.

You Should Apply If:

  • You have a proven track record in growth or partnerships, ideally within banking, fintech, or tech environments.
  • You bring experience in building and optimising B2B partnership strategies and excel at turning insights into tangible, revenue-driving actions.
  • You’re data-driven and adept at performance metrics and commercial opportunity assessment, using insights to guide strategy, solve challenges, and make impactful decisions.
  • You’re a strategic, first-principles thinker who challenges the status quo and embraces opportunities to find new solutions to longstanding problems.
  • You’re a self starter, happy to work scrappily and proactively get things started and then thoughtful and meticulous in setting them up to success.
  • You’re comfortable navigating technical, regulatory, and operational complexities to deliver customer-first solutions.
  • You’re a persuasive communicator who can inspire both internal and external stakeholders and lead collaborative initiatives.
  • You're humble but excited by what we're doing at Monzo
