đLondon | ÂŁ94,000 - ÂŁ120,000 + Benefits | We will stop accepting applications for this role at 12pm on Thursday 22nd May
Weâre looking for several Product Marketing Leads who will play a major role in shaping product strategy and quality in one of the four following collectives â Payments, Borrowing, Core Banking or MonzOS. Youâll be responsible for strengthening our product-market fit in a range of existing products, and supporting the development of new products inside your collective. A few of these collectives require managing 1 to 2 PMMs as well.
Core Banking is the bit of our business that builds our accounts products (current, joint, Under 16s), our subscriptions products (Extra, Perks and Max), and builds experimental new products. Weâre gearing up for our next phase of growth, from 10 million to 20 million customers and have a lot to get done.
Payments is the team behind our money movement products â making it easy, fast, and secure for users to send and receive money across borders and currencies. We're expanding quickly, with ambitious plans to grow our reach to dozens more global destinations. There's a lot to build, and you'll be right at the heart of it.
Borrowing is where we build products that help people access credit responsibly and confidently, whether thatâs through Loans, Flex (our credit card), Home Ownership tools, Overdrafts, or smarter Credit Insights. Weâre focused on making borrowing simpler and more transparent, and thereâs a big roadmap ahead as we scale to support more customers with their financial goals.
Search & Recommendations is the system that combines all of Monzoâs products into one cohesive, seamless experience for our users. Itâs an operating system that joins the dots in your financial life, giving you more momentum the more you use Monzo. Weâre responsible for building tools like Search, evolving our app structure, and recommending products to users.
What Youâll Be Doing:
- Making products that people want. Product Marketers at Monzo work within product squads. Your objective will be to increase the number of customers using our products, and your key output will be the quality of the products we ship.
- Helping us understand the world outside of Monzo. Youâll be responsible for bringing the outside world into your team and making sure that they know how to win. This means leading market intelligence, working hand-in-hand with researchers, developing segmentation, creating ideal customer profiles and other key tools.
- Answering big strategy questions. Youâll be a key member of working-groups that grapple with abstract, strategically-important topics that will shape the future roadmaps of our products, e.g. âwhat should a joint account look like at Monzo?â
- Developing punchy product positioning. Youâll lead the creation and refinement of clear, compelling value propositions and product positioning. Youâll oversee the creation and testing of messaging that differentiates our products in the market and motivates our customers to take actions.
- Overseeing product launches. You will be a key partner to the marketing organisation. Youâll identify the right times for products to ship and youâll inform how we go-to-market. Youâll review work and make sure the quality bar is held high.
You should apply if:
- You are a seasoned product marketer, or you have adjacent experience in product management, product strategy or experience wearing multiple hats in a startup.
- You know how great products are made. You have experience in making things that people love (or at least use a lot). This doesnât necessarily have to be in tech or in banking. Please apply if youâve helped to make great products, full stop.
- You know what great positioning looks like. You have a track record of writing (and validating) compelling product positioning. You understand how to create clarity and differentiation with words and images.
- You know what great market intelligence looks like. Youâre good at understanding the world and using that knowledge to inform decisions. You get customer insight from any source you can find and are comfortable analysing different types of data.
- Youâre comfortable working in complex environments. You have experience working on hard problems or in fast-paced, dynamic teams. Youâve worked with lots of people at different levels and disciplines. You cut through complexity quickly.
- Youâre happy being accountable for results. You have a track record of achieving ambitious business results, and youâre comfortable being assessed on that basis. You know how to prioritise your work for maximum impact.
- Youâre a leader and a mentor. You're comfortable in helping the people around you work better, smarter and faster. Youâre an experienced coach or manager and youâre comfortable challenging people when the quality bar needs to be higher.
- You can set strategy and rally people around it. Youâre confident in taking on abstract questions and charting a path to the answers. You know how to bring others on the journey and build consensus around your recommendations.
