â About our Growth & Marketing Data Team:
As we continue to scale, weâre looking for a Data Science Manager to lead one of our key Growth areasâMarketing.
In this role, youâll collaborate with our award-winning Marketing team and lead a dedicated data team to help execute Monzoâs marketing strategy. Youâll be responsible for building and improving our current capabilities while shaping the future roadmap. Weâre looking for a hands-on and data-driven strategic leader who can bring fresh thinking and inspire both the team and our customers.
đ Youâll play a key role byâŚ
Youâll work closely with leaders across Brand, Paid, and Content, championing the use of data to drive ideas, measurement, optimisation, and learning through a rigorous analytical approach.
Youâll grow and support your team by hiring new members and developing their skills. Youâll manage a mix of Data Scientists and Data Analysts, and work alongside Analytics Engineers to deliver impactful data products. Youâll see the direct results of your work in the performance of our marketing.
We have a strong culture of data-driven decision making across the company. We believe in powerful, real-time analytics and empowering the wider business. Today, 90% of day-to-day data decisions are made through self-serve analytics in Looker, giving data teams the space to focus on bigger, more impactful business questions and analyses.
Your day-to-day:
- Be a key leader in building a discipline of exceptional data scientists and analysts
- Hire, develop, and retain talented data professionals
- Generate insights that can change the direction of our growth and marketing strategy
- Bring data leadership and rigour to our approach to product development. Build a strategic understanding of the business and structure complex projects to bring them to life
- Liaise with marketing, product, and engineering managers to ensure we collect the right data for meaningful business insights

- You have at least 4 years of experience as a Data Science Manager, managing a data team larger than 5 people
- You are a strong strategic data leader and love to drive decisions
- You have strong experience working with executive or C-level peers, managing stakeholders across levels of seniority and disciplinesâespecially in a tech organisation
- Youâre excited by the opportunity to work autonomously to impact the future of a fast-growing, ever-evolving business
- You're familiar with using a variety of Data Science tools (from business intelligence, experimentation, and causal inference through to machine learning), and coding languages (Python and SQL). You know when to pick the right tool, and can help others do the same
- You have experience with Marketing Mix Modelling and other measurement approaches
- Youâre familiar with marketing and advertising datasets from platforms such as Facebook and Google
The Interview Process:
Our interview process involves three main stages. We promise not to ask you any brain teasers or trick questions!
- 30-minute recruiter call
- 45-minute call with the hiring manager
- Three 1-hour video calls with team members
