⭐Our Information Security team

At Monzo our mission is to make money work for everyone. Central to this is making sure the bank is safe and secure for our customers. We’re always keen to hear from people who believe in our mission and want to join us on this journey.

This is a very exciting opportunity to join our Information Security Squad for a 14 month FTC. We’re focused on building security processes that allow the bank to move at pace, while protecting our customers. We’re never afraid to do things differently and aim to form a partnership with product and engineering teams that allows us to support the creation of products our customers love.

🔑 You’ll play a key role by...

  • Contributing to information security projects as part of our security programme. Previously, we’ve delivered work in areas such as third party security, governance and vulnerability management
  • Operating critical security processes, such as our regular user access review, third party security risk assessments and compliance exercises
  • Working with our external partners to support the Bank’s compliance with PCI:DSS (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)
  • Making sure we’re forward looking by staying ahead of new security threats, innovations in technology and emerging risks
  • Working closely with internal audit and risk teams to ensure security controls are properly implemented and regularly assessed for effectiveness
  • Working closely with developers, product managers, and other teams to deliver all of the above

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You're passionate about security: you're genuinely excited about the challenges and opportunities within cyber security at Monzo and eager to learn more
  • You have a technical curiosity: you have a knack for understanding how things work, are capable of lateral thinking and enjoy crafting solutions to complex problems
  • You understand security basics: you have a foundational understanding of security concepts and best practices and can confidently propose solutions to help Monzo progress in line with them
  • You are comfortable with varied work: You've managed multiple projects at once
  • You understand technical information: you're comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedures
  • You're proactive and eager to learn: you take initiative, are proactive in seeking information, and are committed to continuous learning
  • You're a good communicator: you can clearly communicate your ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You're a team player: you enjoy collaborating with others and contributing to a positive team environment
  • You have experience supporting compliance with PCI:DSS: You have some experience working with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard

Experience in a similar financial services role or a highly regulated environment, and security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cyber Security Analyst+, or CISM are a plus!

Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply - even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!

We legally have to verify your Right to Work in the UK before you can start working for us. We're asking for this information now so we know later what type of right to work check we need to do. Your answer to this question won't affect the outcome of your application, unless you'd need visa sponsorship but are applying to a role we can't sponsor.

👤 Identity survey

Our goal at Monzo is to make money work for everyone. To do that, working at Monzo must work for everyone. We want to create an equitable, engaged and innovative workplace which gives people from all backgrounds the support they need to thrive and grow.

Making Monzo work for everyone starts right at the beginning of every Monzonaut's journey: when they apply to work here. This demographic survey will help us better understand the people who apply to work at Monzo. It'll help us see how different groups progress through our hiring process, and where we need to make improvements to be more inclusive. If you choose to fill it out, all of the information you give us is:

  • Voluntary. And we've included a "prefer not to say" option for every question. It'd be helpful if you still fill out the survey even if you choose "prefer not to say" for every question, as it's useful for us to understand & record this. We won't know if you choose to fill this survey in or not.
  • Anonymous to Monzo. We can't tie your responses to you and they won't make a difference to the outcome of your application. We'll only use grouped responses for equal opportunities monitoring in our hiring process.

For more information on how we'll use this data, please read our candidate privacy notice.

By filling out this survey, you agree that we can use your responses for the purposes we've mentioned above. You are not letting us know if we need to make any adjustments to the hiring process because of disability or neurodiversity - to do this please email us.
