⭐Our Security Operations team
We’re here to make money work for everyone - and that means keeping our customers, data, and systems safe.
You’ll join our Security Operations Squad: a group focused on detecting and investigating potential cybersecurity threats, responding to incidents, and constantly improving how we protect Monzo and our customers.
You’ll also be part of our wider Security Collective - a passionate, cross-functional group making Monzo a safer place to work and bank. Security here is all about balance: we protect without adding friction, making sure strong security and great user experience go hand in hand. Learn more about how we scale security detection here.
🔑 You’ll play a key role by...
- Leading complex security incidents from investigation to resolution, coordinating effective responses and recovery
- Continuously improving our detection and monitoring capabilities across SIEM, EDR, cloud logs and other tooling
- Using data-driven analysis to identify trends, root causes and opportunities to strengthen our defences
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues across the squad to build our collective expertise
- Driving improvements in our security controls, policies and processes through insight from incidents and audits
- Helping integrate and maintain new security tools that keep us resilient and ready for evolving threats
🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…
- You have experience in a SOC environment and strong knowledge of incident response frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK or the Cyber Kill Chain
- You’re confident investigating attacks like phishing, lateral movement, and web app or network breaches
- You’ve worked with SIEM, SOAR, IAM, or DLP technologies and know how to tune and optimise them
- You bring depth in one or more areas such as Cloud Security (AWS/Azure/GCP), Network Defence, or Endpoint Security
- You can translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
- You’re pragmatic, collaborative, and excited about Monzo’s mission to make money work for everyone

📍This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London)
