⭐️ Our Costs Team

We're looking for a Cost Performance & Analytics Specialist to lead the Cost Efficiency Team’s  digital transformation, helping build scalable processes, governance and automation that support Monzo's next stage of growth

This role owns the continuous improvement of finance processes, governance and operating models across our cost base. You'll identify opportunities to simplify work, improve controls, automate manual activities and ensure our finance processes remain scalable, well documented and audit ready.

You'll work across Finance, Data, Technology and the business to improve how planning, reporting and governance operate, while helping deliver the Finance transformation roadmap. Rather than producing month end reporting yourself, you'll improve how Finance delivers it.

🔑 You’ll play a key role by...

  • Building the future Finance operating model by redesigning processes, governance and ways of working so Finance scales efficiently as Monzo continues to grow.
  • Leading Finance transformation initiatives from idea through to implementation, delivering measurable improvements to efficiency, controls and the experience of stakeholders.
  • Eliminating manual work through automation, partnering with Finance Data and Technology teams to streamline planning, reporting and governance processes so teams spend more time on analysis and decision making.
  • Designing simple, well-controlled Finance processes that are easy to follow, consistently applied and meet Internal Audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Owning Finance's model / process documentation and standards, ensuring policies, SOPs and process maps remain accurate, accessible and support operational resilience across the team.
  • Driving continuous improvement using data, identifying process bottlenecks, measuring performance through KPIs and implementing practical solutions that improve speed, quality and customer experience.
  • Partnering across Finance, Data, Technology and the wider business to understand challenges, influence priorities and deliver change that creates lasting value.
  • Improving the quality of Finance data and planning models, working with Finance Systems and Data teams to strengthen governance, improve reporting accuracy and increase confidence in financial decision making.
  • Managing the Finance change portfolio, coordinating multiple improvement initiatives, tracking delivery, managing risks and ensuring investment is focused on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Helping build a culture of operational excellence, coaching colleagues on best practice, embedding standard ways of working and creating reusable tools and knowledge that make Finance more effective every day.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • Finance transformation experience with a proven track record of leading cross functional change that improves efficiency, governance and the effectiveness of operations.
  • Process improvement expertise demonstrated through the ability to redesign business processes, simplify ways of working and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Project and change management skills with experience delivering transformation initiatives, managing competing priorities and influencing stakeholders through change.
  • Automation and technology mindset with the ability to identify manual processes, define automation opportunities and partner with technical teams to implement scalable solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior leaders and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Data governance and control knowledge with an understanding of risk management, process controls, audit requirements and the importance of well governed operations.
  • Analytical and problem solving capability with the ability to use data and insight to identify root causes, evaluate options and implement practical, value adding solutions.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for challenging the status quo, embedding best practice and creating a culture of operational excellence and learning.

We legally have to verify your Right to Work in the UK before you can start working for us. We're asking for this information now so we know later what type of right to work check we need to do. Your answer to this question won't affect the outcome of your application, unless you'd need visa sponsorship but are applying to a role we can't sponsor.

👤 Identity survey

Our goal at Monzo is to make money work for everyone. To do that, working at Monzo must work for everyone. We want to create an equitable, engaged and innovative workplace which gives people from all backgrounds the support they need to thrive and grow.

Making Monzo work for everyone starts right at the beginning of every Monzonaut's journey: when they apply to work here. This demographic survey will help us better understand the people who apply to work at Monzo. It'll help us see how different groups progress through our hiring process, and where we need to make improvements to be more inclusive. If you choose to fill it out, all of the information you give us is:

  • Voluntary. And we've included a "prefer not to say" option for every question. It'd be helpful if you still fill out the survey even if you choose "prefer not to say" for every question, as it's useful for us to understand & record this. We won't know if you choose to fill this survey in or not.
  • Anonymous to Monzo. We can't tie your responses to you and they won't make a difference to the outcome of your application. We'll only use grouped responses for equal opportunities monitoring in our hiring process.

For more information on how we'll use this data, please read our candidate privacy notice.

By filling out this survey, you agree that we can use your responses for the purposes we've mentioned above. You are not letting us know if we need to make any adjustments to the hiring process because of disability or neurodiversity - to do this please email us.
