📍London (UK) | 💰 £80,000 - £100,000 + Benefits | 12 month fixed term contract | Hear from the team ✨

We're looking for an experienced and highly capable Martech Specialist (AI deployment) to join our growing marketing technology team. In this role, you will play a key part in shifting us from AI as a productivity tool to AI as a core part of how our marketing team operates to hit its outcomes. You will lead the workstreams and build agents to transform how we produce content at scale, while supporting the adoption of AI applications more broadly across the business. Throughout, you'll unlock new AI capabilities and the systems integrations that make them work within the guardrails of a regulated, financial-services environment.

This is a role for a first-principles and systems thinker: someone who can break a complex problem down to its fundamentals, design how the pieces fit together, and build. You'll be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, and you'll be excellent at navigating a complex, stakeholder-heavy environment to get things done.

This role reports to the Director of Martech & AI and sits within the Martech team, part of the Growth Collective. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

What you'll be involved in:

Programme management: Leading our content scaling programme including translating goals into sequenced, actionable work, driving delivery, and coordinating owners and stakeholders across a complex environment.

Building AI agents: Designing and building AI agents (using tools like Claude) to transform how we produce and scale content. This means turning repeatable, manual work into reliable, well-governed automated flows, with clear judgement on where a human stays in the loop.

Systems integration and governance: Connecting AI and agents into our martech stack and data to unlock new capabilities. This means building the integrations that make them work, and doing it safely in a regulated, financial-services environment (i.e. with data protection, compliance, and the right controls built in).

Creative AI tooling: Running discovery on creative AI tooling. This means assessing what's out there, testing what fits, and identifying where it can raise the quality and scale of our creative output.

Tooling selection and RFP: Running RFPs for Marketing tooling, particularly for a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. This means driving a rigorous selection process from requirements through vendor evaluation to a clear, well-justified recommendation.

AI adoption across the business: Championing the adoption of AI-driven solutions beyond the programme, including helping other teams understand and apply AI, and sharing what works.

This is for you if:

  • You have a proven track record of building and applying AI for teams. You can point to agents, automations, or AI-driven workflows you've built and shipped that others came to rely on, ideally for a marketing or content team with people and stakeholders in the mix.
  • You have strong programme leadership. You've led cross-functional programmes or workstreams end to end, sequencing the work, managing dependencies and risk, keeping stakeholders aligned, and driving delivery to a successful outcome (including picking up work already in flight).
  • You're a first-principles and systems thinker who can break down a complex, ambiguous problem, design how the parts fit together, and build a solution.
  • You're a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and in complex, stakeholder-heavy environments, working with individuals at all levels to get things done.
  • You have a working understanding of marketing and how content and creative are produced. You know what "good" needs to look like and how to build the right guardrails around it.
  • You bring martech literacy and can run a rigorous tooling selection process. This means familiarity with the tooling, integrations, data, and vendors that make up a marketing tech stack.
  • You're comfortable building and integrating AI in a regulated or high-governance environment. You design for data protection, compliance, and the right human controls from the start, not as an afterthought.
  • You possess excellent communication skills, translating between the business need and the technical detail so everyone's working to the same picture.

Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply- even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!

Making Monzo work for everyone starts right at the beginning of every Monzonaut's journey: when they apply to work here. This demographic survey will help us better understand the people who apply to work at Monzo. It'll help us see how different groups progress through our hiring process, and where we need to make improvements to be more inclusive. If you choose to fill it out, all of the information you give us is:

  • Voluntary. And we've included a "prefer not to say" option for every question. It'd be helpful if you still fill out the survey even if you choose "prefer not to say" for every question, as it's useful for us to understand & record this.
