⭐ About our Business Banking Sales team

We are rapidly growing and now serve over 730,000 businesses in the UK 🇬🇧

In order to support the next phase of our expansion, we’re hiring a small team of experienced Sales Account Executives, whose mission is to reach out and support more complex high value customers with a personalised experience.

We’re building an acquisition engine and your job will be to work with small-medium business (SMB) prospective customers, guide them through their buying journey, work with them to activate their account and bring all their banking needs to Monzo.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the founding sales team for a mission driven company , which is changing how people and businesses bank.

🔑 You’ll play a key role by…

  • Engaging with prospective SMB customers through discovery calls, and understand their business, challenges, goals and requirements.
  • Driving full sales cycle, from early prospecting and qualification; to demos and sales;  to ensuring successful account switch and activation.
  • Guiding customers through Monzo’s business banking offerings - providing clear, factual information and helping them evaluate what works best.
  • Being a product expert: fully understand Monzo's business banking products, features and services.
  • Managing a pipeline of leads with strong attention to data hygiene: timely follow-ups, accurate forecasting, deal tracking.
  • Driving activation: not just closing, but ensuring new business customers are fully set up, onboarded, and are using Monzo for their banking needs.
  • Collaborating internally: work closely with marketing, product, risk and customer operations to ensure a smooth journey for customers.
  • Delivering outstanding service at every touchpoint: via phone, video, email or digital channels.
  • Achieving sales targets: conversion, activations, revenue, engagement and other growth metrics as set by the commercial leadership.
  • Feeding insights back: capture and share customer feedback — customer pain points, required features, suggestions for product improvements.
  • Adapting & iterate: Things will change rapidly and often - you’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity and change and help support what comes next.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if you...

  • Have experience in Small Business sales, ideally selling business solutions or financial services; knowing how to engage business customers and understand their mindset, needs and pain points.
  • Have a proven track record of meeting (or exceeding) sales quotas / targets in a performance-driven environment.
  • Are an expert at managing a full sales cycle: from prospecting to activation, including structured and rigorous outreach and follow-ups and cross-team coordination.
  • Have high emotional intelligence and are able to quickly connect and build a relationship with customers of diverse backgrounds and levels of knowledge.
  • Are a strategic communicator,  excellent at building trust and helping customers discover value - you’re consultative, you listen, you ask insightful questions.
  • Are adaptable and resilient, you embrace change and have a strong winning mindset to see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Can communicate clearly: written, verbal, via video; you simplify complex topics for customers.
  • Are coachable and comfortable seeking constructive criticism to empower continuous learning and improvement
  • Are comfortable working in a fast-moving, high change environment. You thrive when things aren’t fully defined yet.
  • Can demonstrate high levels of personal organisation: tracking your pipeline, managing your time, prioritising your leads and follow-up tasks.
  • Have integrity and strong consumer duty awareness: regulatory compliance, knowing your customer, reducing risk, safeguarding data and ensuring we put consumer duty first are foundational to this role and our culture.

Bonus / Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior experience in a regulated environment (banking)
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Familiarity with SMBs in specific verticals (e.g. food & drink, professional services, construction)
