About the Project

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in cross-platform test automation and deep knowledge of Playwright, React, and modern mobile technologies. You'll lead the design and execution of a high-quality regression strategy for responsive web and mobile applications built on Next.js, React, and cross-platform mobile stacks.

This role demands hands-on testing capabilities, strategic thinking, and a sharp eye for detail in complex systems—especially with React component testing, Playwright-driven automation, and holistic regression coverage.

Responsibilities

✅ Lead Regression Strategy & Ownership

• Design and implement a regression testing strategy across Next.js (web) and mobile platforms.

• Categorize and tag tests (P0, P1, P2) for efficient prioritization and scheduling.

• Define regression KPIs: defect escape rate, test coverage of critical user journeys, and execution efficiency.

✅ Playwright Automation (Core Requirement)

• Build and maintain robust Playwright-based automation suites, including:

  • Cross-browser tests (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit)

  • React component testing with Playwright’s Component Testing feature

  • API interception and mocking for test state control

  • Visual regression via screenshot comparisons

• Scale tests using Playwright’s parallelization features and worker pools.

✅ React & Next.js Testing

• Write and maintain unit, component, and integration tests for React components using Playwright and React Testing Library.

• Ensure end-to-end coverage of core flows (e.g., search, cart, checkout) in a Next.js SSR environment.

• Work closely with devs to test API routes, middleware, and edge cases in dynamic routing.

✅ Mobile Testing Integration

• Identify platform-specific vs. shared test cases between mobile and web.

• Reuse fixtures and test data across platforms.

• Validate API contract consistency and help unify test reporting across platforms.

✅ Test Review & Maintenance

• Perform weekly regression reviews to inspect test results, detect flaky tests, and ensure continued coverage.

• Collaborate with developers via rotating regression ownership and reviews.

• Introduce AI-assisted maintenance and performance regression tracking tools.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years in QA or Test Automation, ideally with eCommerce or user-centric apps

• Expert-level Playwright experience, including component testing and visual diffing

• Strong testing knowledge for React (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright component testing)

• Solid understanding of Next.js and how to test SSR, API routes, and dynamic pages

• Experience with mobile application testing, API interaction, and cross-platform consistency

• Familiar with mocking tools, test data strategies, and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills

Nice to have: 

• Experience integrating mobile and web test reports into unified dashboards

• Familiarity with AI testing tools and performance regression tools

• Exposure to analytics tools to prioritize regression coverage
