Country Manager, Japan

Are you a creative and experienced sales leader who loves to drive growth? Are you excited by the ability to drive sales, build relationships and bring Wi-Fi HaLow to the masses in Japan as Morse Micro’s Country Manager? If so, we want you to join the Morse Micro team. You will be responsible for driving profitable growth of Morse Micro’s Wi-Fi HaLow products and solutions within the Japanese market.

As Morse Micro’s Country Manager for Japan, you will be flexible to travel within Japan for customer visits and business development activities, and internationally as required for training and strategy discussions. The primary roles and responsibilities are strategic sales planning, driving design wins  effectively, prompt execution, channel utilization, and leadership. You will work with a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about technology and driven to succeed. The position will report to the VP Global Sales & Business Development, based in the United States. Your role and team will help drive the sales success of Morse Micro’s HaLow technology in the Japan region.

Morse Micro is Australia’s largest fabless semiconductor company and the leader in Wi-Fi HaLow technology, which is shaping the future of long-range Wi-Fi for IoT. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute Morse Micro’s strategic plan for the Japanese market in alignment with the company's overall objectives
  • Manage and provide priorities to FAE in Japan 
  • Bridging the gap between Japanese OEMs and ODMs in the Greater China region.
  • Bridge Japanse IoT developers to Morse Micro’s Wi-Fi module vendors
  • Bridge Japanese module vendors to chip distributors
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key Japanese customers, understanding their needs and requirements, and working with the team to develop solutions that meet those needs
  • Identify, develop, and nurture emerging accounts and markets
  • Driving regular pipeline reviews with the team
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and corporate policies
  • Building and nurturing influential internal relationships with corporate management
  • Creatively solving problems to improve Morse Micro’s market penetration and perception
  • Provides input into organizational effectiveness to inform optimal structure, skills, and staff needed to execute on strategies
  • Represent Morse Micro at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and foster partnerships

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in the semiconductor, wireless communication, or IoT industries, with a proven track record in business development and sales.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese market dynamics, customer needs, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in both Japanese and English.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving capabilities with a history of bringing new technologies to market.
  • Team oriented; leverages sales partners abilities appropriately; shares in successes and takes ownership for mistakes or losses.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
