What You’ll Accomplish
- Support archival processing by inventorying, rehousing, conducting descriptive cataloging, writing finding aids, and ingesting data into the catalog
- Research records, events, and figures to enrich Museum history and metadata
- Digitize records by scanning or photographing and create their metadata for ingestion into the Museum’s digital asset management system
- Assist with basic reference inquiries from staff and the public through phone, email, onsite appointments, and web inquiry
- Aid the Senior Archivist with daily operations
What We’re Looking For
- Enrolled in or recently graduated (less than 1 year) from a graduate archives and/or library science program
- Familiarity with archival standards and metadata schemas such as DACS and Dublin Core
- Familiarity with archival and library databases such as ArchivesSpace
- Demonstrated interest in history, archives, library sciences, or museum studies
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
Where/When You’ll Work
- Tuesdays & Thursdays onsite
- 28 hours max per week, $15.25 an hour
