About Karner Psychiatric Services
Since 1985, Karner Psychiatric Services has grown into one of the largest and most respected outpatient mental health practices in New York's Capital Region. Its team of psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and psychiatric nurse practitioners serves clients of all ages from offices in Guilderland, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, and now Watertown.
Karner opened its Watertown office in August 2026 to bring psychiatric care closer to home for Jefferson County and the Fort Drum community. Watertown is the first practice in Jefferson County to offer TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), an FDA-cleared, non-medication treatment for depression. Before it opened, local patients had to travel to Syracuse for TMS. The office also offers psychiatric evaluation and medication management with an on-site psychiatric nurse practitioner. That means you'll work alongside prescribers, not alone.
The Watertown team understands military life. Karner is in-network with TRICARE and Martin's Point, and the front-office team includes military spouses who know the schedules and transitions that come with life at Fort Drum.
You'll be one of the first therapists at the new office, joining at the ground floor of a growing location that Karner is actively marketing. You'll also have the backing of an established practice with more than 40 years of history. Karner's mission is simple: to provide the highest quality of individualized and compassionate outpatient treatment, so the people it serves can improve their quality of life.
