What You’ll Be Doing

Evaluation of AV Performance Metrics: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software engineers, AI scientists, control engineers, simulation engineers, and validation teams to understand what is happening with the AV in on road situations and determine what options are available to resolve those issues in both the short and long term.  Areas of performance will include things like lane change, oscillation and braking metrics.

Operational Coordination and Execution: Work with diverse teams across autonomy, operations and core engineering to understand AV performance in specific environments, under specific conditions for the purpose of evaluating options.  This will involve coordinating multiple teams and workstreams on a tight timeframe through multiple iterations.

Communicating with Executives: As part of the Motional process there will be multiple iterations of executive review where you will be required to communicate a range of information from technical performance, RCA, through to different execution options.  Presentations will need to be both factual and data driven along with providing insight of what the numbers mean.

Decisive Decision Making: Real time decision making of day to day events based on preparatory work and data analysis that can be leveraged to address environmental conditions that are experienced on any given day.

Implement Procedures and Practices: Design and Implement best practices for on road experience evaluation that can be followed and repeated by the engineering and operational teams.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create clear and concise documentation for consumption by all parties involved in on road performance evaluation. Share knowledge and best practices with the wider operational and engineering teams.

Staying Current with AV Engineering Technologies: Continuously learn and evaluate new technologies and methodologies relevant to autonomous vehicles and data engineering.

  • Familiarity with simulation environments and data generated from AV simulations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker) for presenting performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques relevant to performance evaluation.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.

Success Metrics

  • Successful design and execution of key autonomous vehicles on road experience evaluation.
  • Clear communication and expectation setting of the processes and execution of activities associated with on road experience activities.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
