Senior Hardware Architecture Engineer

Mission Summary:
The Hardware Architecture Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the overall hardware system is designed, integrated, and validated to meet functional, performance, safety, and reliability requirements. This role spans the entire product lifecycle, from concept development through production launch and post-production support.
The Hardware Architecture Engineer serves as the technical authority for system-level hardware integration, with accountability for requirements management, architecture definition, and successful cross-functional execution.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and define the system-level hardware architecture, including requirements definition, interface control, and data flow management.
- Lead system integration activities, ensuring seamless interoperability between components, subsystems, and software.
- Manage and validate system and component-level requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with system-level integration.
- Lead system-level testing and validation activities, including integration and performance verification.
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, software, validation, manufacturing, and production) to ensure alignment with program objectives.
- Partner with external suppliers, vendors, and certification agencies to ensure components and systems meet overall design and compliance standards.
Internal & External Collaboration:
- Work closely with Design Release Engineers, Quality Assurance & Validation Teams, Manufacturing & Production Teams, Software Engineers, and Component Engineers.
- Engage with suppliers, vendors, and certification laboratories to ensure successful system integration and formal validation.
Ownership & Accountability:
- Own the overall system-level hardware integration, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and compliance with corporate engineering standards.
- Ensure all subsystems and components align with system-level requirements and function cohesively as part of the integrated system.
- Drive system readiness for production, including manufacturability, validation, and end-of-life considerations.
Performance Metrics:
- Successful integration of components and subsystems into a fully functional system.
- Fulfillment of system-level requirements and compliance with corporate standards.
- On-time delivery of architecture, integration, and validation milestones.
- Effective identification, management, and resolution of system-level risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in hardware architecture, system integration, or hardware/software co-design.
- Strong background in requirements management, interface definition, and validation methodologies.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and managing technical deliverables.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Onsite: This role is based in our Pittsburgh office and requires in-office days each week.

Salary Range
$134,000 - $174,000 USD
