Production Manager

Location: Hayward
Motiv is looking for a Production Manager who will build and manage a team of manufacturing technicians to work out of our Hayward facility in California to manufacture our Motiv power electronics components. As the leader of the Manufacturing team, you will oversee the daily workflow of the plant, ensure safety compliance throughout the facility, and implement processes that maintain efficiency and productivity while staying within the budget and meeting production schedule deadlines.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plan/organize schedules and resources to meet production deadlines and minimize downtime
- Establish workflow processes that enhance efficiency without compromising product safety or quality
- Monitor production and work with Engineering and other managers/directors to resolve issues
- Manage engineering changes and ensure flawless launches of product upgrades and new product introductions.
- Implement a data driven approach to put plans in place to improve both quality and efficiency, while reducing costs.
- Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
- Establish both preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve availability.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel. Provide motivation and support.
- Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
- Establish a robust RMA process for quality returns from the assembly plant and field to improve product quality.
- Resolve unforeseen problems with manufacturing, quality and engineering/development.
- Lead supplier quality improvement process with key suppliers, while supporting production and tracking supplier quality performance.
- Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of electronics production management
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
- Outstanding communication ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or relevant field; Master Degree desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in production leadership role
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Salary Range:
- $140,000.00-$160,000.00 (Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.)
