About the Position:
The Café Assistant Manager will work in harmony with the General Manager and Head Chef. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will also supervise, coordinate and train junior service staff, such as lead servers, servers, bus persons, baristas and hosts. Their food service duties include interacting with customers, answering questions, informing patrons of special menu items and keeping the dining area clean and organized. The administrative duties include managing staff & Extended Care clients as needed, controlling the cash and credit transactions, daily closeouts, maintaining timecards and closing/securing all areas of the buildings.
Schedule:
Wednesday through Sunday, mix of 6:30-2:30 and 8:00-4:00
Your Role:

- Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
- Supervise and participate in kitchen training and coaching when directed or needed.
- Adequately schedule the front of house when needed based on forecasted revenues when needed
- Cover any callouts by making coverage or personally filling in.
- Create quarterly goals for employees.
- Maintain all Relias training in a timely fashion for staff and self.
- Order and inventory all beverages and to go paper products
- Create ways of increasing or generating new revenues.
- Ensure all employees are compliant with company dress code and non-smoking policy.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding food service.
- Provide a first day onboarding for new clients with a thorough explanation of all systems, functions, rules, policies and expectations.
- Train workers in service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service.
- Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.
- Control inventories equipment, small ware, and report shortages to designated personnel.
- Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
- Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems.
- Perform various financial activities such as cash handling and deposit preparation.
- Compile and balance cash receipts at the end of the day or shift.
- Conduct meetings with GM and collaborate with other personnel in regard to serving arrangements, and related details.
- Present bills and accept payments.
- Greet and seat guests and present menus.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness standards in the FOH
Qualifications:
- Management Experience
- Server Experience
- Customer service experience
- ServSafe Certificate Preferred
Compensation:
The base rate of pay for this position is an annual salary of $53,000-55,000. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
