Mountainside is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team and make a lasting impact on individuals recovering from substance use disorders. Your Role:

  • Conduct physical exams and obtain thorough medical histories during intake
  • Assess clients for appropriate level of care and medical stability during detox
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, EKGs, x-rays) as clinically indicated
  • Prescribe and manage medications in both detox and residential settings, under the guidance of the Medical Director
  • Monitor clients for withdrawal symptoms, acute medical concerns, and changes in condition
  • Provide medical clearances, specialist referrals, and hospital transfers when necessary
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds and treatment planning sessions
  • Educate clients on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care
  • Maintain detailed, compliant medical records in line with DPH, CARF, OSHA, and organizational standards
  • Support staff with ongoing medical education and help develop best practices
  • Serve as an on-site medical resource for urgent needs or crisis situations

Qualifications:

  • Active APRN or PA license in the state of Connecticut
  • Active DEA in the state of Connecticut.
  • Ability to perform physical assessment of clients         
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills           
  • Computer skills (email, Electronic Medical Records & Microsoft word skills)   
  • Understanding and awareness of withdrawal symptoms
  • Experience/knowledge in substance use/detoxification setting

Compensation:

The base salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 per year. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
