VP/SVP, Accounts

Remote

VP/SVP, Accounts

Position: Full Time

OVERVIEW:

Movement Strategy is growing our Account team and looking for a seasoned leader. We're hiring at either the VP or SVP level, depending on experience and fit. If you've spent your career in social-first, culturally relevant work and know how to build first-class client teams, keep reading.

The right person for this role lives in culture, not adjacent to it. You understand how brands earn relevance on social rather than just buy it, and you've led teams through the speed and always-on nature of social: real-time response, cultural moments, creator and community-driven brand building. You bring big-picture thinking to every client conversation and drive new business at every turn.

With Newfangled Studios now part of Movement Strategy, this role owns account leadership across the combined organization. You'll own executive-level client relationships and the long-term growth of a portfolio that spans our social-first work and full range of capabilities. You'll set the vision for how we show up for clients and how our people grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the vision. Communicate a clear sense of purpose that teams want to rally behind. Make the vision shareable and inspire people across the organization to move with it. Set the strategic direction for the account functions, and align the team around how we show up for clients.

Be the connective tissue. Maintain visibility across the groups and departments within your discipline. Surface patterns, risks, and opportunities to ELT, and connect the dots that individual teams can't see on their own. You're the person who sees the whole board and keeps leadership informed.

Build the client service model: Establish the client service model the whole team operates by, standardizing practices, cadences, and ways of working so our approach is consistent across every account. Lead new client onboarding, account planning, quarterly business reviews, and successful renewals as repeatable, best-in-class motions.

Grow and expand scope. Own organic growth across the portfolio. Spot where we can deepen existing relationships, build the case for new scopes of work, and lead the strategy, scoping, and pricing conversations that turn those opportunities into signed business. Partner with finance and operations to forecast revenue accurately and protect margin as accounts scale.

Own client leadership. Oversee the entire account function as the senior relationship owner, while staying hands-on with a core cohort of accounts. Lead all client engagements, including strategic guidance, thought leadership, integrated planning, staffing solutions, and revenue forecasting. Champion thought leadership alongside our clients, bringing them into industry events and forums to showcase work, discuss relevant topics, and build relationships in person. Set direction for the whole portfolio, step into high-stakes conversations, and personally lead the relationships and work where your presence matters most, ensuring best-in-class delivery across every client.

Show up in person. We're a remote company, but we know the strongest relationships happen in person. You may travel 1-2 times per month on average to be with your clients and your team.

Drive new and existing business. Identify and pursue opportunities to win net-new clients. Stay active in new business beyond your own group's book, bringing senior credibility and pitch presence wherever it's needed. Lead and contribute to pitches with confidence and authority, from early positioning through final presentation.

Build the team. Build and lead a first-class account team. Manage and develop talent within your discipline, providing clear career paths, real coaching, and accountability while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Right-size staffing against the work, and develop the next layer of account leadership beneath you.

Champion AI across the function. Lead how we integrate AI into account operations and client work. You understand how AI is reshaping creative production, social listening, content velocity, and client deliverables, and you help teams adopt these tools thoughtfully.

Navigate the organization. Get things done through both formal and informal channels. Maneuver complex situations with ease, anticipate what's coming, and seize the right opportunities for change.

Solve and deliver. Learn quickly when facing new problems and experiment to find winning solutions. Pursue everything with energy and drive, and stay steady in the face of resistance or setbacks.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18+ years managing and growing large-scale client business and global brand portfolios, primarily within a social-first or digital agency environment.
  • Deep fluency in social platforms, creator and influencer ecosystems, and community-driven brand building, plus a real command of social-first measurement.
  • 8+ years managing at least 4 direct reports.
  • A proven track record of strong, lasting client relationships and leadership.
  • A real skill for pitching and winning new business.
  • Experience leading all client engagements: strategic guidance, thought leadership, integrated plans, staffing solutions, revenue forecasts, and oversight of day-to-day account operations.
  • Experience leading account planning across multiple clients and industries.
  • A "lead by example" approach that inspires and motivates cross-functional teams to produce outstanding work. You're someone people want to work with and learn from.
  • A strategic mind at your core, backed by strong analytical and critical thinking.
  • High standards and impeccable attention to detail across every deliverable.
  • A finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends, breakthrough creative, and emerging technology.

IDEAL QUALITIES

  • You live in culture and understand how brands stay relevant in social.
  • You're energized by how AI is changing the agency model and see it as an opportunity, not a threat.
  • You're steady and even-keeled, even when the unexpected hits.
  • You see your team's and your clients' success as your own.
  • You're proactive and naturally curious about the digital space.
  • You treat your clients' business as if it were your own.
  • You make other people's jobs easier, no matter who they are or what they do.
  • You create a positive, open environment around you.
  • Your attention to detail is unmatched.
  • You bring a diverse and inclusive perspective.

Movement Strategy is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they check every single box. Movement Strategy is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourages those from historically and systemically marginalized communities to apply.

We believe that what we put out into the world matters. And since we were founded on the principles of paving our own path, we take bold steps toward what we believe is the right direction. This means addressing the big stuff: the systems of inequality that impact some of us far more than others. As culture creators, we firmly believe we have a responsibility to our colleagues, clients, communities, and the industry to live up to the Movement’s name. We confront inequities head-on as they come, knowing that this work is never done and that we must keep the momentum.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
