About this team and role:

Mozilla IT is seeking an outstanding Senior HRIS Application Engineer to accelerate our journey toward streamlining Human Resource (HR) experiences for Mozillians, and boost our highly competent team of HRIS experts. You will be responsible for developing, proposing and implementing Workday integrations, tenant fixes and enhancements. The role is a key resource in providing technical support of our Workday instance in areas including, but not limited to, absence module, tenant tuning, data integrity, and dashboard development that support People systems administration. Someone who enjoys working with different teams and determining the best solution to address their needs and make them more successful. Someone who is passionate about learning and innovation, loves to experiment to find the best way to solve customers’ problems. You will evaluate the business needs, evaluate the current process for continuous improvement and deploy scalable solutions to meet the needs. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Conduct regular audits of system security, access, permissions, and approvals; identify areas of improvement; and collaborate with the People Team and other groups and business units to ensure expert use and management of data
  • Respond to critical requests by clarifying the need and setting realistic expectations about feature delivery
  • Create and manage a catalog of reports and dashboards to drive consistent data representation among all users
  • Create audit processes and reports to ensure compliance and data integrity
  • Configure and enhance business processes, integrations, and system-related governance
  • Support HR system requests including gathering requirements, system configuration, design and development of integrations, executing tests, implementation, and training efforts
  • Diagnose system problems and implement thoughtful solutions
  • Serve as the Workday SME to support initiatives from the People Team and multi-functional partners
  • Act as a consultant to stakeholders in the development of concepts by clarifying the business case, assessing feasibility, scope, and resource requirements
  • Drive and support release management by assessing readiness, and the impact to downstream systems and change management
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date process documentation and manage change management, as required
  • Assist with end user KT or trainings
  • Ask insightful questions and provide constructive feedback
  • Anticipate needs and draw from past experiences to offer solutions
  • Maintain relationships with key business partners to manage issues as they arise and provide timely support

What you’ll bring: 

  • 5+ years of experience in implementation, enhancement, and/or technical support of Workday Core HCM and supplemental modules and multi-system integrations
  • Hands-on Workday HCM configuration and reporting capabilities
  • Workday Pro Certifications (HCM, Reporting, Integrations, Security); Workday Studio experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with EIBs, both in and outbound both for BPs and third-party tools
  • 3+ years of experience with Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System highly preferred
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive data with integrity
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and VBA
  • Flexibility to pivot quickly both within and between projects
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work well in both team and individual environments
