Senior Product Manager - Embedded Finance

As a Senior Product Manager - Embedded Finance on the Flexible Wallet team, we are looking for you to help drive the next generation of card issuance, payments, and lending products in the embedded finance space. You will own the strategy, execution, and go-to-market for our emerging product lines, working cross-functionally to launch and scale innovative financial solutions.

The Flexible Wallet team is revolutionizing global embedded finance, enabling seamless integration of financial products into business platforms. We provide instant card issuance, lending, and payments, making financial services more accessible and scalable. As builders and innovators, we thrive on making an impact and pushing fintech boundaries and are passionate about creating customer-centric, next-gen financial products.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States or our Oakland, CA office. We’d love for you to join us!

The Impact You'll Have

  • Define & Drive Product Strategy – Own the roadmap for our new fintech products, aligning business goals with customer needs
  • Build & Scale Embedded Finance Solutions – Develop innovative products in card issuance, payments, or lending, collaborating with engineering, design, and data teams
  • Execute with Excellence – Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, data science, legal, compliance, and external partners to build, launch, and scale compliant financial products
  • Customer & Market Research – Deeply understand customer pain points, industry trends, and competitive dynamics to shape product decisions
  • Prioritize with Data – Leverage analytics, user insights, and industry trends to identify high-impact features, optimizations, and experiments
  • Partner with Fintech Ecosystem – Work closely with banks, networks, and fintech partners to drive innovation and enhance our platform’s capabilities
  • Optimize & Iterate – Monitor key product metrics, measure impact, and iterate based on learnings to continuously enhance the customer experience.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of product management experience in fintech, embedded finance, payments, or lending
  • Proven experience building and scaling financial products from 0 to 1 in a high-growth environment
  • Strong technical acumen – ability to work closely with engineering teams and understand API-driven products
  • Deep understanding of card issuance, payment processing, credit/lending, or banking-as-a-service (BaaS) models
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, balancing strategic vision with execution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – ability to work with both internal teams and external partners

Nice-To-Haves

  • Experience working with compliance, risk, and regulatory frameworks in fintech is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in AdTech with creating solutions for demand and supply partners

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National: $118,100 - $147,600
  • Premium: $127,800 - $159,700
  • Premium Plus: $138,900 - $173,600
