Strategy and Operations Manager

Remote, USA

We’re looking for a Strategy and Operations Manager to join our high-impact Strategy and Operations team. In this role, you'll drive critical cross-functional initiatives, solve complex problems, and build the operational backbone that helps us scale. You’ll partner closely with teams across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Go-To-Market to bring structure to chaos, uncover actionable insights, and influence decisions at all levels of the company.

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Lead strategic projects from ideation through execution, bringing structure to ambiguity
  • Analyze key business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and automation
  • Build clear, data-backed recommendations that drive decision-making
  • Partner on company-wide planning, forecasting, and operational reviews
  • Develop dashboards, frameworks, and playbooks that drive execution at scale
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and enable others to succeed

Who You Are

  • Strategic Problem-Solver: You're a natural at navigating through ambiguity using 80/20 thinking to quickly dissect complexity. You're adept at identifying and articulating implications, taking necessary actions or escalating as needed.
  • Communication Expert: You're a communication ninja, delivering clear materials with actionable synthesis and recommendations. Your strong listening skills and ability to deliver concise, well-organized artifacts drive fact-based decision-making.
  • Analytical Precision: You're known for delivering large-scale, consistently reliable, and actionable quantitative and qualitative analyses.
  • Collaborative Partner: Your team-first attitude and ability to work effectively across functions set you apart. You build enduring, trust-based relationships with stakeholders and thrive on helping others drive successful business outcomes.
  • Experienced Professional: You bring a minimum of 6 years of experience in management consulting, business strategy, investment banking, or a similarly fast-paced, analytical role.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization Pro: You have strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
  • Industry Savvy: Experience in fintech or technology-driven industries is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:

  • National:  $131,900 - $164,900
  • Premium: $142,800 - $178,500
  • Premium Plus: $155,200 - $194,000
