As Marqeta’s Key Account Manager, Strategic Accounts, you will partner with a cross functional team and manage one of our global strategic accounts. You will bring a strong track record of growth and deep relationship building experience to provide exceptional client service, uncover revenue generating opportunities and workable solutions to your customer. You persistently explore and uncover the business needs of your customer to understand how our product offerings can grow their business.

We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States or from our Oakland office. We'd love for you to join us!

Who You Are 

  • 10+ years of experience in Account Management
  • Proven experience growing and scaling strategic accounts and building multi stakeholder relationships
  • Familiarity and first-hand knowledge in fintech, banking or payments
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation written, email) and track record of creating and executing strategic account plans
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others in a matrix environment, gaining buy-in at multiple levels across the organization
  • Positive attitude, team player, adaptable, resourceful, and self-starter who is able to lead team independently
  • Strong grasp of industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Hands on experience in negotiating contracts, pricing models and renewals
  • Proven track record of cross selling and upselling and ability to identify new revenue streams based on customer needs
  • Experience leading business reviews and using data driven strategies to make informed decisions

Nice-To-Haves

  • Card Issuing and Processing experience, BNPL or Expense Management, Supplier Payments

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.

Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA

Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

Within our Revenue organization at Marqeta, On Target Earnings (OTE) is composed of a mix between annual salary and variable compensation, which is earned based on your individual performance and that of your immediate team.

When determining an OTE figure we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base OTE range for this position is:

National: $151,875 - $202,500

Premium: $160,313 - $213,750

Premium Plus: $168,750 - $225,000
